Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time 17th August 2025

R. I. P.

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Dolores Healy, whose funeral took place during the week.

Please remember all bereaved families in your prayers

Prayer to Our Lady of Knock

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland,

you gave hope to your people

in a time of distress

and comforted them in sorrow.

You have inspired countless pilgrims

to pray with confidence to your divine Son,

remembering His promise,

“Ask and you shall receive,

seek and you shall find”.

Help me to remember that we are all

pilgrims on the road to Heaven.

Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick,

lonely or depressed.

Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the Holy Mass.

Give me a greater love of Jesus

in the Blessed Sacrament.

Pray for me now and at the end of my death.

Amen.

Marriage

Newly engaged couples are advised to contact our Parish Office to advise of your intention to marry, to make sure the Church is available for your preferred date. (Naturally the earlier you do this the better). At that time, we will advise on the next steps.

For couples who are getting married, either in our Parish or outside our Parish, you need to meet the priest of the parish you are residing in for the past six months to complete all the necessary paperwork (Pre-Nuptial Enquiry Form) This is the responsibility of the Bride and Groom.

Please note that this must be done at least three months before the wedding.

Tara to Slane pilgrim walk – Bealach an tSolais –

The annual pilgrim walk from the Hill of Tara to the Hill of Slane will take place on Saturday, 30th August.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the first pilgrimage for the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000.

Tara is associated with our pre-Christian history while Slane, according to tradition, is the site where St. Patrick lit the Paschal Fire for the first time in Ireland. The walk is therefore a journey towards the Light of Christ, the source of hope on our pilgrim journey through life. The walk is 15 miles (24 kms) long and winds along country roads through Skryne, Walterstown, and Beauparc, before crossing the Boyne at Slane.

For information and registration, contact Navan Parish Office at 046-9027518 or office@navanparish.ie
