Directives from the Diocese of Meath
for Celebration of Funeral & Wedding Masses
In our Parish, in accordance with Diocesan guidelines, Eulogies are not part of the Funeral Mass; an option for a eulogy to take place is in the Funeral Home or in the Cemetery, after the burial.
In celebrations of the Eucharist, Readings at the Mass must be taken from the Bible (Lectionary).
Our church is a Sacred space with the Blessed Sacrament and sacred Music/Hymns only are permitted during the celebration of the Eucharist, be it at a Funeral or Wedding Mass.
Moorechurch Cemetery
Moorechurch Cemetery is vested in the ownership of Meath Co. Council. The Council have contacted the parish requesting us to facilitate the setting up of a Committee to” formally manage the maintenance and management of the Cemetery”. Interested parties are invited to attend a Meeting in the Parish Office, Preston Hill at 8 pm on Monday, 3rd April.
Church Gate Collections
We would like to remind those applying for Permits that there are clear Guidelines for such collections.
The Parish Finance Committee ask that Collections take place after Mass and, in accordance with the permit, not on church grounds.

The large window in St. Mary’s Church has been removed and work has commenced on its replacement. This work will last roughly eight weeks.
