Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time 4th February 2024

Wednesday, 7th February

Due to commencing preliminary investigation work on the sky lights in St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday, 7th February. Mass will take place at 7pm which will replace the 10 am Mass on Wednesday morning.

St. Patrick’s Day – Sunday, 17th March

Mass times on St. Patricks day will change to facilitate Devotions in Stamullen Cemetery.

Following consultation, we believe it will be best if the 10 am Mass takes place in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown and the 11:30 am Mass will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Stamullen followed by Devotions in Stamullen Cemetery.

We would ask that you advise families and friends from outside the parish with loved ones buried in Stamullen Cemetery to these times.

Altar Servers

Training of Altar Servers will commence in the coming weeks.

We are delighted to invite our young parishioners from third to sixth class to become Altar Servers and we hope parents/grandparents will encourage them to join this wonderful group of young people who will assist with the celebration of Mass.

Altar serving is a lovely way for children to express and have an active participation in both the faith and the life of our parish.

Parents/guardians of these children will be fully involved in all aspects of Altar serving.  Also, our Parish Team will always adhere to Safeguarding guidelines in our Parish/Diocese in accordance with Government best practice.

If your child would like to volunteer to be part of this wonderful Ministry or if you would like more information, please chat to Fr. Brendan or contact Carol in our Parish office.

Baptism Preparation

Our next Baptismal Preparation meetings will take place this Tuesday, 6th February at 7:30 pm in St. Patricks Pastoral Centre.

Please contact our parish office if you would like to register your child for Baptism.

Temperance Sunday

Mass for Temperance Sunday & World Day of Prayer for the Sick will be broadcast next Sunday, 11th February at 11am on RTÉ TV & Radio.

St. Patrick’s Church

Statues in St. Patrick’s Church will be removed in the next few weeks to be fully refurbished.  There are holes in these Statues and some of the limbs are broken.  They will be restored like new!

We will also commence work on storm-glazing the Stained-glass windows in the Church.

Six windows will be storm glazed and four will have their current storm glazing amended.

This work will protect the wonderful Stained glass and preserve it for many years to come.

We have been advised that the cost for this work will be approximately € 9,600 (€1,100 per window for the six and €750 each for the four to be amended).  With this in mind, we would welcome individuals, families or businesses who would like to sponsor/donate towards part or all of this work.

If you would like to sponsor/donate to this project, envelopes are available beside the Newsletters. If you prefer you can donate by bank transfer using the Bank details on the left.  If you chose to donate by Bank Transfer, please put ‘Stained Glass windows’ in the reference.

Thank you sincerely for your continued support which enables us to continue Renovating our parish churches.

St. Mary’s Church

Planned Renovations will continue in St. Mary’s Church this year.

We are hoping to do some work on the Roof in May.

To facilitate this work, it will be necessary to close St. Marys church for two or three weeks.  While the work is taking place, all Masses, funerals, weddings will take place in St. Patrick’s Church.

Celebration of Mass and mass intentions will be transferred to St. Patrick’s Church for the duration of the closure.

Mass times will remain the same with 7pm Vigil on Saturday and 10 am and 11:30 am on Sunday.  All masses will take place in St. Patrick’s Church.  Ministers of the Eucharist and Word will follow their Rota.

We will have more information closer to the time.
