Viatores Christi
Our Mission continues with hope and joy in 2016 – we pray that we can continue to serve those in most need at home and overseas – we do this by training and placing skilled people where they are needed in the world and where nobody else has the required skills set nearby. You hear from us quite often and we are always looking for people to go the Mission field but in 2015 we actually also began to recruit local people on to projects and we also have a Uganda sub office headed up by a Ugandan woman.
Our Mission partners (largely Irish religious sisters, brothers and sisters and their projects which they have set up over the decades) still require suitably qualified lay people to consider giving a year or two to Mission, to go and share their skills where they are needed most and train at least one person to take over when they depart.
At the moment we are looking for everything from Carpenters to Teacher Trainers to Marketing Specialists to Social Workers and all jobs are on our website.
Do you want to learn more about the possibility of overseas volunteering and/or training in Overseas Development & Mission? Viatores Christi (VC) will hold an Information & Recruitment Session on Saturday 16th January 2016 at 12.00 at VC HQ, 8 New Cabra Road, Phibsboro, Dublin 7 Tel. 01-8689986 or check info@viatoreschristi.com www.viatoreschristi.com.
Stamullen Village Plans – Meeting
Senator Thomas Byrne n conjunction with Stamullen Community Alert Committee will be hosting a talk to answer any questions people may have about the proposal to increase the population of the village to anything up to 15,000. This is a serious issue for the village as we are already lacking amenities and we have to make submissions to block this before the end of the month. This talk will be held upstairs in St Patrick’s GAA on Tuesday, 12th January at 9pm.
