Sacraments in our Parish

Confirmation

On Monday, 105 children from our parish received the Sacrament of Confirmation. We congratulate these young people and their families on this very special occasion.

Unfortunately, Bishop Tom was unable to attend on the day, and we extend our sincere thanks to Fr. Declan Hurley, who celebrated the Ceremony.

We are deeply grateful to all who helped prepare the children for this important step in their faith journey. The ceremonies were both wonderful and dignified, a credit to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.

Our thanks also to all who assisted on the day and to those who prepared the church so beautifully for the Ceremonies. The children were delighted to see their Artwork on display at the weekend.

Thanks also to Printcom, Coolock, for printing the tickets for our Ceremonies.

We ask parishioners to keep these children and their families in your prayers, that they may continue to walk in the love of God and be guided by the gifts of the Holy Spirit throughout their lives.

Heavenly Father,

I pray that you fill these children with your Holy Spirit. Give them the spirit of wisdom to know you, understanding to love you, and courage to follow you. Help them to be kind and compassionate, growing in love every day. Keep them safe and guide their steps, in Jesus' name. Amen.

First Communion / First Confession

Congratulations to the children from our Parish Schools who Enrolled for First Communion last weekend. We have another opportunity to enroll this weekend at our Vigil Mass in St. Mary’s Church.

Children who were Baptised outside our Parish are required to attach a Baptismal Certificate to their Enrolment Form.

As we continue our journey towards receiving the Sacrament of First Communion, we encourage families to attend Mass each weekend and keep an eye on our Parish Newsletter for information.

Projects in our Parish 2026/2027

At a recent Finance Committee meeting it was agreed that this year, we will attend to the following Maintenance Projects in our Parish:

St. Patrick’s Church

The interior of the Church will be painted and Gutters will be replaced on either side of the Church Roof.

You will notice the Statues have been moved and placed higher up to ensure their safety and the safety of those praying in our Church.

St. Mary’s Church

We were delighted to have completed the work on the Skylights, Roof and the Windows and Gutters in St. Mary’s Church. We hope you will agree that these improvements have made the church a warmer and more welcoming space for all.

Our attention is now turning to the Church and its grounds, particular focus is on improving accessing the Church and safety regarding our family room. As part of this, we are planning to develop a pathway around the church. We have consulted with an architect and will share further details of the proposed work in due course.

None of these projects would be possible without your continued generosity and support, for which we are sincerely and truly grateful.

The Good News - Lenten Bulletin for Children

This week’s Bulletin for Children is availalbe to pick up from the steps of the Sanctuary at the Altar.

Children are invited to bring these Good News sheets home and bring them back next Sunday to place in front of the Altar.
