Special SMA Collection Weekend of 17th & 18th June

Bishop Michael has given permission to the SMA to hold collections in the Diocese of Meath.  Fr. Tom Curran SMA will celebrate masses in our parish next weekend.

The Society of African Missions – SMA – was founded in France in 1856 and when it was established in Ireland in 1878 it was the first exclusively missionary congregation to send out missionaries from Ireland.  The main mission of the SMA is in Africa where members work in 17 countries.  Today, there are about 900 members and about 270 seminarians preparing to be missionaries.  The SMA asks for the support of prayers for the success of its missionary works. Our greatest needs are funds to educate our seminarians and to continue work among the poorest people on earth.
