Stamullen Road Club
There was great excitement among club members last Sunday at Gormalough, Co. Meath when Seamus Howard won the Senior A4 Boyne GP from a field of 136 riders. It was probably one of the tightest finishes witnessed in recent years, as three riders, including Seamus, blasted their way to the finish line, locked in battle. It was only after careful scrutiny from the photo-finish crew that Seamus was deemed the winner. Winning margins are often tight but this one on Sunday was something of a record breaker. It so happened on Sunday that it was the first day the club riders were kitted out in their new club gear, which is not officially launched yet. Sponsor, Simon Mulvany from Fast in transport, Drogheda was delighted to see his new colours on display and what better way than on the shoulders of a winner. In the Senior A1 Race, Craig Sweetman finished in a very creditable 4th place.
Fixtures: Saturday the Markievicz Cup Race at Sligo and the Lucan GP at Batterstown. Sign-On at Blackhall Gaels GAA grounds.
