Your prayers are requested for the repose of the souls of Bridget (Bridie) Maguire, Patrick (Packie) McAuley Jnr., and Mona Winters, Tullyallen (sister of a parishioner) whose funerals took place during the week.

We remember the bereaved in our prayers.

St. Patrick’s Day

Annual devotions for Stamullen cemetery will be celebrated on St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March (Patron Day). The blessing of graves and prayers for the dead will take place immediately after 10 am Mass.  This mass will be offered for all who have died in the past year and for those who are buried in Stamullen cemetery.

We welcome all family and friends of the deceased who are joining parishioners for this special occasion.

St. Patrick’s Day is a special envelope offering for Stamullen Church only.  We would like to thank parishioners for their continued support, for which we are very grateful.

Ceremonies in the Parish:  Baptism

This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Noah Beasley, Lucy Morris and Kai Murphy,  May these newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend. We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families.

 

Parish Pilgrimage

Information regarding proposed Parish Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi is available in both churches and from the parish office.  If you are interested in joining the Pilgrimage we would appreciate if you could return Booking Forms and relevant deposit as soon as possible.

We hope to travel from 11th-16th August and the cost is €850 p.p.s. (€25  per night single supplement).

St. Marys Church Julianstown

A number of parishioners have expressed an interest in cleaning St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown. If you would like to get involved in this very rewarding task, please contact Aisling on 0879051751 or Josephine 0868148722 or leave your name and contact details on the sheet beside the newsletters.

Flower Society Stamullen Annual Collection

The Stamullen Flower Society will hold their annual collection on St. Patrick’s Day 17th March and at Masses over the weekend of 18th & 19th March.

This collection will support the continued supply of fresh flowers in Stamullen church throughout the year.  Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

Annual Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock

The annual Stamullen/Julianstown Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Sunday, 21st May this year. The cost of the day is €30, and this includes tea/coffee and sandwiches on the way down in The Longford Arms Hotel. The bus will leave Stamullen at 7:45am, and Julianstown at 8am.  Contact Ann on 01-8411267, Mary on 086-2309910 or Colm on 086-8056138 to reserve your seat. Non-Pioneers are VERY welcome to join us on this special day!!

Make A Wish Day- Cake Sale Fund Raiser

Johnny McQuillan and family are hosting a Cake Sale in aid of Make A Wish before and after 6pm mass on Saturday 1st April at and Sunday 2nd after 10am Mass.    If you would like to contribute some baked items we would be very grateful.  Donations can be left into the Parish Centre, Stamullen from 2 pm on Saturday 1st .. You support is very much appreciated ….

Stamullen Road Club

Last weekend the club got off to a good start to the new season, when at the Ras Naomh Finian in Clonard, Co. Meath on Saturday. Arek Klus finished 2nd Senior A2 and then he went on to finish 3rd in the Newbridge GP at Miltown Co. Kildare on Sunday.  In the Senior A4 race, Sean Landers finished in 8th place and this was Sean’s first prize in an open race.

This weekend’s races – Sunday: Boyne GP at Gormalough which is located on the Slane/Kilberry road.  Races for all senior categories. Senior A2 Race starts at 10:30 and followed at 10:33 with the Senior A4 Race.  At 12:45 the Senior A1 Race will get underway and followed at 12:48 by the Senior A3/Junior Race.  All over these races will cover laps of a local 12 km circuit.

On St. Patrick’s Day Carrick Wheelers in Carrick-on-Suir will hold the annual Bobby Power Memorial, starting at 11 am.

Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes

St. Patrick’s GF & HC – Club News

  1. Div 1 ‘A‘ League on Sunday, 12thMarch in Seneschalstown at 2.30pm. Seneschalstown v St. Patrick’s.
  2. Div 1. ‘B‘ League on Monday, 13thMarch at the GAA Grounds, Stamullen at 8pm. St. Patrick’s v St. Peter’s, Dunboyne.
  3. Social Dancing in St. Patrick’s on Friday,31st March from 9–12 pm.  Music on the night by Images.  Adm: €10 including light refreshments.

Afternoon Tea in Gormanston Castle

Afternoon Tea in Gormanston Castle will take place on Saturday 25th March (day before Mother’s Day).  Hosted by Franciscan College Gormanston Parents Association, to raise funds for much needed school equipment and the Irish Cancer Society. Experience Afternoon Tea inside Historic Gormanston Castle, with a music reception, together with a short ground floor tour and learn of the castle’s past. Visitors will welcome the opening of the castle’s doors for this exclusive event.  Entry is by advance purchase ticket only, for 25th March three sittings from 11.15am.  €25 per person with places limited.  Contact 087-6442699 for details and to book.

Julianstown Community Music Festival

Julianstown Community Music Festival will take place on Sunday, 9th April in the Community Hall, Sandyhall Road, Julianstown Afternon Concert from 2:30-5pm and Evening Concert from 7-9:15 pm.  Tickets €15 pp are available at the Limekiln, Julianstown or from Dorothy at dorothy@alioth.eu.  Please see posters on Noticeboards for more details…..

Our next conference which will look at ‘Food, Farming and Laudato Si’. It takes place on Saturday 25th March from 9am (registration) to 3.30pm.
