St. Patrick’s Day – Stamullen

Annual Ten Week Draw

Parish Pilgrimage
Information regarding proposed Parish Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi is available in both churches and from the parish office. If you are interested in joining the Pilgrimage we would appreciate if you could return Booking Forms and relevant deposit as soon as possible.
We hope to travel from 11th-16th August and the cost is €850 p.p.s. (€25 per night single supplement).
Ceremonies in the Parish: Baptism
This weekend we welcome Caragh O’Dowd in Baptism. May she always know and love Jesus as her friend. We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families.
Flower Society Stamullen Annual Collection
The Stamullen Flower Society are holding their annual collection at Masses over this weekend (18th & 19th March). This collection will support the continued supply of fresh flowers in Stamullen church throughout the year. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
Adoration
All welcome to spend some time in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament through the day in Julianstown on Wednesday from 9 am and continuing after 10 am Mass and on Thursday in Stamullen from 10am to 5pm.
Diocesan Notes: World Meeting of Families Collection
Pope Francis has personally chosen Dublin to be the host diocese for the World Meeting of Families from 21st-26th August 2018. Planning for this great national and international celebration of faith is well underway. Hosting this important event requires an enormous amount of planning and funding. In this regard a second national collection will be held on the weekend of 1st and 2nd April 2017. Your support for this collection would be greatly appreciated.
Annual Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock
The annual Stamullen/Julianstown Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Sunday, 21st May this year. The cost of the day is €30, and this includes tea/coffee and sandwiches on the way down in The Longford Arms Hotel. The bus will leave Stamullen at 7:45am, and Julianstown at 8am. Make-A-Wish® – Cake Sale Fund Raiser
Johnny McQuillan and family are hosting a Cake Sale in aid of Make A Wish on Saturday 1st April before and after 6 pm Mass and Sunday 2nd after 10am Mass. If you would like to contribute some baked items we would be very grateful. Donations can be left into the Parish Centre, Stamullen from 2 pm on Saturday 1st .. You support is very much appreciated ….
East Meath Hospice Pancake Morning 2017
East Meath Hospice would like to thank the management and staff of City North Hotel for their help on the day of the Fund Raising Pancake Morning and thanks to all who supported. The day was a great success and €6,500 was raised. Thank you to all. Your support is very much appreciated.
Art Exhibition
Skerries Mills will host an Exhibition of paintings which will include local artists from 13th to 26th March. Many local landscapes, flowers etc., included. Opening hours 10 am to 4:30 pm daily. All very welcome. Admission Free.
Stamullen Road Club
Last Sunday at the Boyne GP, Sean Landers had a great race, finishing 3rd in a massive bunch sprint. All of the other riders put in very good performances in their respective categories, where almost 400 cyclists lined up for the four separate races.
This week’s races: St. Patrick’s Day: Bobby Power Memorial at Carrick-On-Suir. Sunday: Des Hanlon Memorial at Carlow, 10am, Seven Springs GP at Loughrea, Co. Galway. Donal Crowley & Kay Strattan at Blarney, Co. Cork and the Carn Classic at Maghera 1pm.
With Stamullen weekend of cycle races coming up on 8th April with John Reilly Memorial at Balscadden and Stamullen GP on Sunday 9th April, we would like it to be known that if anybody reading the Newsletter would like to assist by way of stewarding, this would be much appreciated and would ask that you make contact with any club member.

- Under 17 League on Saturday,25th March at 4pm in Boardsmill. Boardsmill v St. Patrick’s.
- Social Dancing returns to St. Patrick’s GAA Club on Friday night the 31stMarch at 9pm. Music on the night by Images. Adm €10 euro including light refreshments.
Afternoon Tea in Gormanston Castle
Afternoon Tea in Gormanston Castle will take place on Saturday 25th March (day before Mother’s Day). Hosted by Franciscan College Gormanston Parents Association, to raise funds for much needed school equipment and the Irish Cancer Society. Experience Afternoon Tea inside Historic Gormanston Castle, with a music reception, together with a short ground floor tour and learn of the castle’s past. Visitors will welcome the opening of the castle’s doors for this exclusive event. Entry is by advance purchase ticket only, for three sittings, from 11.15am. €25 per person with places limited. Irish Blood Transfusion service (IBTS)
The opportunity to give blood will arise at Duleek Boys NS, on Tuesday, 21st March from 5-8:30 pm. It is important that we all remember, many patients in hospitals need our blood and this need never ceases. Thank you.
