Diocesan Notes:  World Meeting of Families Collection

Pope Francis has personally chosen Dublin to be the host diocese for the World Meeting of Families from 21st-26th  August 2018. Planning for this great national and international celebration of faith is well underway. Hosting this important event requires an enormous amount of planning and funding. In this regard a second national collection will be held next weekend 1st and 2nd April 2017. Your support for this collection would be greatly appreciated

Holy Thursday

For the past number of years we have contacted a number of parishioners to ask if they would like to have their feet washed on Holy Thursday and they have been very gracious and have obliged.

We hope to include the Washing of feet as part of our Holy week ceremonies again this year.

We would be very grateful if parishioners could volunteer for this part of the Holy Thursday Ceremony in St. Patrick’s Church, Stamullen.

If you would like to be invited we would appreciate if you could write your name and phone number on the sheet in the middle of the Church in Stamullen and beside the Newsletters in Julianstown.  We will contact the final 12 before Holy Week.

Stamullen Tidy Towns

Recently Sean from Atomic Fitness presented a large cheque to Jim Matthews of Stamullen Tidy Towns and Miriam Doran from Friends of Calcutta.  Friends of Calcutta feed and educate 800 children from the slums of Calcutta and 100% of all money goes directly to the project.   A total of €2,380 was raised and split between both groups.  The money was raised by Sean in his recent spectacular achievement in climbing Kilimanjaro.  According to Sean he had a great – if sometimes difficult time but persevered and reached the summit.  Our sincere thanks to Sean and his team.  Atomic fitness provides a fantastic facility right in the middle of Stamullen and deserves everyone’s support.
