New Bishop for Meath
We would like to congratulate Canon Thomas Deenihan who has has been appointed as the new Bishop of Meath.
Fr. Deenihan was born in the parish of Blackpool on June 20, 1967. He attended the North Monastery Christian Brothers School. After completing post-primary education, he studied in the national seminary of Saint Patricks College, Maynooth.
Bishop-elect Deenihan was ordained a deacon by Bishop Michael Smith, Bishop of Meath, in Maynooth on April 1, 1990. On June 1, 1991, he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Cork & Ross by the late Bishop Michael Murphy.
Bishop Buckley of the Diocese of Cork and Ross congratulated Fr Deenihan on his appointment and praised him for his work across Cork over the past 27 years. “As his Bishop, I am very grateful to him for his knowledgeable and respectful service to me and to the Diocese,” he said“I wish Canon Tom every joy, blessing and happiness in his new role.”
On a national level, Bishop-elect Deenihan served as General Secretary of the Catholic Primary Schools Management Association from 2013 to 2016, and as acting-executive secretary to the Council for Education and to the Commission for Catholic Education and Formation of the Irish Episcopal Conference from 2016 to date.
Bishop-elect Deenihan is a member of the Honan Governors at University College Cork; a member of Mercy Care South, a Diocesan Public Juridic Person for the Mercy University Hospital in Cork; and is chair of the Board of Directors of the Christian Leadership in Education Office.

Stamullen Cemetery Committee
The annual Mass will take place in Stamullen cemetery on Friday, 29th June at 7:30 pm.
The Committee look forward to seeing you there and the plots in their usual pristine condition.
All are invited to the Parish centre afterwards for a cup of a tea and a chat.

CHY Certificates – Charity Relief for the Parish
We would like to advise Parishioners that we received a refund of €13,167 from Revenue recently through the Charity Relief Section.
We would like to thank all who contribute to the parish and to those who returned their completed CHY3/4 Certificates which resulted in this refund. Your support is very much appreciated.
Parishioners who donate over €250 per annum are eligible for participation in this initiative by Revenue.
If you have not returned your form please do not be discouraged, Revenue assure us that we can submit claims more than once per year.
Sacraments in the Parish: Baptism
This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Tadhg Brennan, Meadhbh Enright, Bobby Fitzsimons, Sophie Maxwell and Alex Taaffe. May all newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend. We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their familes.

Open invitation to Families
An open invitation is being extended to families to visit the Icon of the Holy Family in Navan from the afternooon of Tuesday, 26th June to Friday 29th June and in Mullingar from Friday, 29th June to Monday, 2nd July.
Parishioners are invited to Navan from 7 pm each evening to present their petitions before the Icon (these petitions will be given to contemplative communities in Ireland before being brought to the closing Mass with Pope Francis in the Phoenix Park) at 8 pm join us for Evening Prayer with a reflection on the meaning of the Icon and 8:45 pm Refreshments.
(Parishioners are also invited to visit the Icon at any time over the course of the few days).
Petition sheets will be made available for families and individuals in every parish so that they can write a prayer request for their family and leave their petition close to the Icon.

Stamullen Road Club
On Monday night Drogheda Wheelers CC promoted the opening round of the Mark Mullen Memorial H/C League and Stamullen RC riders were in the top finishers. Sean Landers finished a close 3rd and Gary Gorman (now fully recovered from his injuries sustained last July) finished 7th The race was held at Donore and riders raced over (6) laps of the Newtown, Plattin, Donore circuit.
