Coronavirus Update
Dear Parishioners,
Over the next few weeks while Masses are suspended, we will continue to publish a limited number of Newsletters. These will be left in the Churches.
St. Patrick’s Church, Stamullen is open for parishioners from 9am to 4 pm daily.
St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown is open every Sunday from10 am to 12 pm and Monday to Friday from 3pm to 4pm, if people wish to drop in to pray.
Meanwhile, I am continuing to say daily Mass in the Oratory of Preston Hill for the intentions of parishioners and I trust that we will receive spiritual strength to get through this crisis together.
All public ceremonies, including Adoration in both Churches of the parish, have been suspended until further notice.
Funerals, Weddings and Christenings will continue under the restriction of Government guidelines.
Obviously, there is a huge economic impact for the country and we as a church are no different. If parishioners wish to offer a donation, or leave their weekly envelopes, a box will be left in both churches for that purpose.
At noon, after the Angelus, on Wednesday, 25th March, Feast of the Annunciation, the Archbishop of Armagh, Eamonn Martin, has invited all of us to consecrate Ireland and her people to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for protection from Coronavirus.
There will be more information about this event on our Website: sjparish.ie later in the week.
In the meantime, I continue to pray for the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing of all parishioners and urge you all to continue to adhere to the guidelines. Our co-operation and unity will bring us together through this dark hour.
Our God is near and asks us to be near to one another. Perhaps right now we cannot draw near physically to others for fear of contagion, but we can reawaken in ourselves a habit of drawing near to others through prayer and mutual help. Pope Francis.
Prayer for protection from sickness
Dear God,
Protect me and my family from any sickness and viruses,
You are our shield and our only hope.
You are greater than any disease.
We trust you.
Amen
Please Note:
The Parish Office will be open from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on Monday and Friday only until further notice.
