Feast of The Most Holy Trinity 15th June 2025

Sunday 15 June 2025

Published 16 June 2025

R. I. P.

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the souls of Ita McKenna whose funeral took place during the week and Mary Andrews whose funeral takes place in St. Patrick’s Church at 10 am on Monday.

Please remember all bereaved families in your prayers

Father’s Day

St. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, is a powerful example of fatherhood marked by humility, faith, and quiet strength.

Though little is recorded of his words, his actions speak volumes. He protected Mary and Jesus, provided for them through honest labour, and followed God's will with unwavering trust.

As a father, Joseph showed love not through grand gestures but through steadfast presence and obedience. His life serves as a model for all fathers: to lead with integrity, care selflessly for their families, and remain faithful.

The Church honours his legacy with two feast days: March 19 (St. Joseph’s Day) and May 1 (St. Joseph the Worker), reflecting his vital role as both guardian of the Holy Family and patron of labourers.

As we celebrate Father’s Day, St. Joseph stands out as a spiritual role model, reminding us to honour and appreciate fathers for their quiet strength, dedication, and loving presence in family life.

Fathers Day Prayer

Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus,
the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom,
tenderness and patience;
support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our rock and defender.

Prayer for our young parishioners sitting exams

Please remember our young parishioners who are sitting their Junior and Leaving Certificate exams and indeed all who are sitting exams, in your prayers.
