The Starfish Story …
A professor was taking an early morning walk along the beach and came across a child bending down and then running to the waters’ edge, back and forth.
“What are you doing?” the professor asked.
“These starfish have been stranded. The sun is coming up and the tide is going out – if I don’t throw them back into the sea, they will die. Replied the child.
“But don’t you realise – there are miles and miles of beach, and starfish all along it? There are too many and you can’t save them. What difference will it make?”
The child paused and thought. Then, picking up the next starfish and gently throwing it into the waves, replied,
“It made a difference for that one.”
The professor considered this.
Then, bending down, lifted a starfish.

Parish Finance / Maintenance Projects
St. Marys
The whole issue of access to St. Marys Church is being looked at by our Architect.
The door from the Car Park does not meet modern building regulations (for example – it is not wheelchair friendly).
The family room is really not fit for purpose with children having access to the car park. This is not ideal.
We are looking at provision of a path around the perimeter of St. Mary’s Church to allow better access to the front door from the Car park.
We are awaiting revised drawings.
All the windows and the skylights have been cleaned. The lino on the inside of the windows has also been industrially cleaned. The Boiler is booked for a Service
This is to mention some of the essential works that are being carried out over the coming weeks.
St. Patrick’s
Projects which have been completed –

Renovate Candlesticks reredos

Essential Drainage Works
The last outstanding big job is the installation of the new Gutters on the Church. This, we hope, will be carried out in the next couple of weeks.
