Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of  Marie MacDonagh, Keenogue, whose funeral will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown at 12:30 pm on Tuesday next 12th July, burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery.

We remember the bereaved in our prayers.

Congratulations

We would like to congratulate Warren Collier who will be ordained to the Diocese of Meath this Sunday in St. Mary’s, Parish, Drogheda and also Fr. Conor McGee who was ordained in Tullamore recently.

We wish them both many happy years of Ministry.

Stamullen Cemetery

The Stamullen Cemetery Commitee would like to thank everyone who, despite the inclement weather, attended the annual Mass and had their plots in lovely condition.

A special thanks to Fr. Declan P.P., who celebrated the Mass and also for his kind words of support for the Committee.  He was assisted by retired PP of Stamullen, Fr. Michael Daly and retired PP of Ballymore, Westmeath, Fr. Philip Smith, who is a native of Stamullen and has now returned to live in the parish.

Thank you to Holly Reilly for her beautiful singing during the Mass.  Special thanks to Scupps Whyte, Sean Sutton, Pat Ryan and Willie Curtis, to Mark Mooney who supplied the paint and looked after all the painting duties in the graveyard at no cost to the Committee.

Well done to the ladies who supplied and planted the flowers each side of the gate; they added nice colour to the cemetery.

Finally thanks to individual members of the committee who worked tirelessly over the year, the general public for their messages of support and generous donations and to Brendan and the staff of Whyte’s for the refreshments after the Mass.

Stamullen Adoration

Adoration in  Stamullen will take place every Thursday following 10 am Mass, until 11 am. Adoration will resume after summer recess in September.

Stamullen Tidy Towns

Stamullen Tidy Towns will host our 10Km beach walk along the Meath coastline from the Mornington Tower to Delvin bridge on Sunday, 10th July. We will be leaving Whyte’s of Stamullen at 11.30 am.   Transport from Stamullen to Mornington and from Gormanston to Whyte’s pub will be provided. Refreshments will be available on the beach at Laytown.  A barbeque will be provided with live music at Whyte’s of Stamullen.   Come along and support us and have a fun filled day with the added benefit of a good workout!  Tickets for the event are available from any member of the committee or from Whyte’s bar at €10 for an individual or €20 for a family.  We now just need good weather on the day.

Urgent ‘tidy towns’ help is required at the moment and anyone with an hour or two to spare could you please contact any member of the committee and we will set up a rota for people who can provide occasional help.

The Golden Girls

The Golden Girls had a great day at Fairyhouse recently. We were served a beautiful meal (and came home a little richer).

Our trip to Malahide Castle is on the 21st July, bus leaving Stamullen at 11.30 am returning around 6pm for our meal in Whytes. (Non ‘Golden Girl’ members very welcome to join us).

We are now into our 3rd year and new members always welcome.  We meet on Monday morning at 11am in the parish hall.   Come along and join us……..

Stamullen Road Club

• Last weekend proved to be a great one for the club with the 4-man team of Arek Klus, Craig Sweetman, Glenn White and Niall Craven (Guest) competing at the Newry 3-day race.

In the opening 56km stage on Friday night, Craig Sweetman finished in 5th place.  On Saturday morning in the 104km stage in Hilltown, Co. Down, Craig finished 4th and Arek finished 7th.

On Sunday the final stage (118km) was held through the Mountains of Mourne and Arek was up in the leading break from the start, only to be caught with 8km to go.  Here Craig went on to finish 2nd in this stage.  Overall Classification – Craig (5th ) and Arek (6th).

• After (3) Rounds of the Mark Mullen Memorial League, Gary Gorman is leading with a total of (23) points and Seamus Howard is (2nd) with a total of (22) points.
• Saturday at the Ballivor GP, Gary Gorman finished (3rd).

Irish Guide Dogs Association – Collection

Irish Guide Dogs Association have been granted a garda permit to collect outside Stamullen and Julianstown churches on Saturday 23rd  and Sunday 24th of July.

All collectors are volunteers and all moneys goes directly to Irish guide dogs for the blind to train more guide dogs for blind people and more assistance dogs for families who have a child with autism.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Bellewstown Belles – Ladies Golf Society

An Post Meath Heritage Cycle Tour
