Safeguarding Sunday
This Sunday is Safeguarding Sunday in the Diocese of Meath. As we come back together it is important that we remember the spirit of safeguarding embodied in our parish communities.
We have been aware during Covid restrictions of keeping each other safe. Safeguarding in our Church involves this same spirit and underpins everything that we do as a parish community.
As adults in the Church, it is our Christian duty to work together to make sure that children’s participation in Church activities is safe.
We can fulfil this duty by participating in safeguarding training and abiding by the policies and procedures in place in Church activities such as attendance registers and appropriate supervision ratios.
Message from our Parish Safeguarding Reps
Today, Safeguarding Sunday, we are reminded that as parish safeguarding representatives, we face a new year of engagement in safeguarding in our parish.
We ask all of you for your support and encouragement for all of the children returning to their previous roles in our parish. Children are the future of our Church, and it is incumbent on each of us as adult Church members to support and encourage their safe participation in Church activities through our safeguarding practices. May we all embrace a spirit of safeguarding as we go about our Parish lives and ensure that every day in our Parish is safe for children through training; safe recruitment of volunteers and codes of behaviour.
Your Safeguarding representatives: Stephen & Carol
R.I.P.
Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Maura Purfield & Joan Murray whose funerals took place during the week.
Please remember all bereaved in our prayers.
Baptisms
This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Zachary Callan.
May newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend. We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families
Please contact the Parish Office if you wish to have your child baptised.

First Holy Communion Ceremonies
First Holy Communion Ceremonies for children from St. Patrick’s NS took place on Saturday morning in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown.
Congratulations to the boys and girls and their families.
We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families.
We would like to thank the staff from St. Patrick’s NS who helped prepare the children for their Ceremony and all who helped with stewarding etc., in the church. We are so very grateful for their help.
As we continue to prepare for the First Holy Communion Ceremony for children from Whitecross school, and for the safety of all, we would like to remind you:
- All adults must wear facemasks while in the Church for all Masses/Liturgies.
- Sanitisers are available at the entrance to both churches.
- Please adhere to social distancing.
First Friday Calls
Sincere apologies, Fr. Brendan had to postpone First Friday calls this week. Calls will now take place next Thursday,14th October.
If you know of anyone who would appreciate a visit from Fr. Brendan, please contact the parish office.
Ministers of the Word (Lector) & Eucharist
The service and dedication of Ministers of the Word and Eucharist are important parts of our parish life.
The primary duty of these Ministers is to assist the priest, as a representative of the people of the parish, in a visible manner.
It is a privilege to be in the sanctuary as our Savior, Jesus Christ, becomes truly present, body, blood, soul and divinity, just as He was at the Last Supper and Calvary.
What an honor to serve our Lord at this most praiseworthy gift of love.
We are currently seeking more Ministers in the parish. If you would like to become a Minister of the Word or Minister of the Eucharist, please contact the Parish Office.
