Ash Wednesday
Mass with blessing and distribution of Ashes will take place in St. Mary’s Church Julianstown at 10 am and in St. Patrick’s Church, Stamullen at 7 pm on Ash Wednesday, 14th March.
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.

Ceremonies in the Parish: Baptism
This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Tadhg O’Grady and James White. May these newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend.

Fund Raising – Ten Week Draw
The first draw of the Annual Parish Fund Raising Ten Week Draw took place last week. We will finish with a double draw on Easter Sunday.
1st Prize: €250, 2nd Prize: €100, 3rd Prize: €75 and 4th Prize: €50.

East Meath Hospice Pancake Morning 2018
The annual East Meath Hospice Fund Raising Pancake Morning will take place on Tuesday, 13th February in the City North Hotel from 10 am – 12:30 pm.
Come along for Pancakes, tea & Coffee and browse through the many stalls including, Arts and Crafts, Handbags, Clothes, Shoes and some local produce. We will also have a raffle on the day. Admission €5. Committee members will be on hand if you wish to learn about the work of EMHA. Looking forward to meeting friends, old and new. Thank you for your continued support.
First Communion & Confirmation Preparation
We would like to congratulate the First Communion Candidates from St. Patrick’s and Whitecross schools who had their first Confessions during the week and the Confirmation Candidates from St. Patrick’s NS who took part in their Ceremony of Light on Thursday.
- TheCeremony of Light for Confirmation Candidates from Whitecross NS will take place on Thursday, 22nd February in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown.
Sacraments in the Parish
Confirmation Ceremonies will take place on Thursday, 19th April. Whitecross NS ceremony will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown at 11 am and St. Patrick’s NS ceremony takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Gormanston at 3 pm.
First Communion Ceremonies will take place in the Church of the Immaculate conception, Gormanston on 12th May (St. Patrick’s NS) and St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown on 19th May (Whitecross NS).
We ask parishioners to pray for all children in the parish who are preparing for First Communion and Confirmation this year.
World Meeting of Families: Celebrating St. Valentines Day
Parishioners are invited to take a St. Valentine’s Day Card with Joy of Love Gift Tokens enclosed which are available at the back of the church in Julianstown and in the side entrance porch in Stamullen.

Diocesan News
The Bishops’ Office have forwarded copies of Choose Life 2018 for use by parishes.
Choose Life 2018, which is prepared by a number of people working with the Catholic Press Office, promotes the Church’s position on unborn human life and encourages family discussion on this important subject.
Please check the noticeboards in both churches for copy of these Newsletters. If you would like to have a copy of same, please contact the Parish office.
The intention is to provide this newsletter on a regular basis (possibly weekly) between now and the referendum on the 8th Amendment.
Adoration in Stamullen
If you would like to spend some time in quiet prayer with the Lord, please join us for one hour, in Julianstown from 9 am and after 10 am Mass on Wednesday and in Stamullen after 10 am Mass on Thursday.
Health and Safety
We will continue to suspend the sign of peace while the risk of Flu remains high. We feel it is important that we are pro-active as a parish. This decision will be reviewed in a few weeks.
The Golden Girls
Join us for a cuppa and chat every Monday morning in the Parish Centre, Stamullen from 11 am to 1 pm.
True Light Prayer Group
The True Light Prayer group meetings continue on Tuesdays, from 8 – 9:30 pm in the Parish Centre, Stamullen. Come just as you are and share in God’s word through praise and scripture. All very welcome.

St. Marys, Drogheda Restoration Project
The Drogheda Male Voice Choir will perform a special Fundraising concert for the restoration of the roof of St. Mary’s Church, James Street, Drogheda. They will be joined by wonderful soprano Amie Dyer and the Drogheda Boys Choir. Compere for the evening is Alison Comyn. Join us on Friday, 9th March at 8 pm. MAHS
MAHS (Meath Archaeological and Historical Society) whill host a lecture: “Medieval Chant for Irish Saints: Recovering a Hidden European Heritage” by Dr Ann Buckley (TCD), at the Ardboyne Hotel Navan, on Wednesday, 21st February at 7.30pm, following launch of the Society’s Journal Riocht na Midhe 2018 by Most Rev Dr Michael Smith (Patron).
