Sunday, 11th March 2018
At the Spring 2018 General Meeting, the Irish Bishops announced two upcoming weekends dedicated to the prayerful support for the protection of life from the moment of conception until natural death.
The first takes place this weekend, 10th and 11th March, as dioceses throughout the country will participate in the ‘24 Hours for the Lord’ initiative of Pope Francis so as to experience the Lord’s loving mercy.
The second weekend of prayer will take place across the country on 8th April, Divine Mercy Sunday, and also on Monday 9th April, the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord.
R. I. P.
Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Marie Moran whose funeral took place during the week.
We remember the bereaved in our prayers.

With the threat of Abortion fast becoming a reality for the Irish Nation we are again asking you to join with us from St. Patrick’s Day as we begin a 54 Day Rosary Novena for the Protection of Life from Conception to Natural Death. If you presently pray a daily Rosary, please include these 54 days with your normal intentions. For those who wish to join us as we pray the Rosary each night at 9.30pm on the internet, you can join us at www.portlaoiseparish.ie and click on webcam. However, if that particular time is not suitable, please pray your own 54 day rosaries at the times most suited to you. The first 27 days in Petition begin on 17th March and the second 27 days in Thanksgiving begin on 13th April ending 9th May 2018. We would be grateful, if it was possible for you to email, call or text us to confirm you are doing the novena.
