Knock Shrine will open the 39th annual Novena to Our Lady of Knock on Sunday 14th August and this year it promises to be bigger than ever with a tremendous line-up of well-known and engaging speakers. Workshop sessions will take place daily to engage people and provide them with the opportunity to discuss and reflect. The theme for this year is ‘Merciful like the Father’ in keeping with the Jubilee Year of Mercy with a focus on real-life issues and challenges.
A Focus on the Challenges of Everyday Life
Speaking about the appeal of this years’ Novena, Fr. Richard, PP, Rector, Knock Shrine said, the following: “People are facing enormous challenges, trying to grapple with daily struggles, financial pressures, as well as juggling family life. We want to look at dealing with the broader issues facing society and ordinary working families. Themes such as social equality, mercy , healing and how we can help one another are just some of the elements drawn from the broader theme of Mercy, what it actually means to us and how we can bring it into our everyday lives.”
Daily Novena Workshops will take place in St. John’s Rest & Care each day with the exception of Sunday 14th, Monday 15th and Sunday 21st when they will be located in the Prayer Guidance Centre.
