RIP

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the souls of Breda Jackman, sister of Mary Davitt, whose funeral will take place in Ballyboughal and James (Jim) Mortell, whose funeral took place this weekend.  We remember the bereaved in our prayers.

 

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims takes place on the third Sunday in November every year as an acknowledgment of victims of road traffic crashes and the loss suffered by their relations. Parishioners are invited to pray for all who have been bereaved, injured or killed.

 

WMOF2018

Please support the fifth National collection for WMOF2018 which will be taken up in this weekend during all Masses.

 

List of the Dead

List of the Dead envelopes, with sheets included, are available in both Churches and from the parish office.  They are also available in the yearly envelope box.

Please be sure to submit your list before the end of November. You can leave envelopes in the boxes provided, during Mass times only, or drop into the parish office.

 

Solemnity of Christ the King,

To mark the Solemnity of Christ the King,  all are welcome to join Bishop Deenihan and the priests of our Diocese, for Evening Prayer  and Benediction at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Sunday, 25th November at 5pm.

 

Fund Raising Committee

Our annual Christmas Bingo will take place in the City North Hotel on Wednesday, 5th December.  Looking forward to seeing you all there.

 

Bingo: Raffle

We will be holding a Raffle on the night of the Bingo and we would appreciate any donations towards same.  Donations can be festive themed: Christmas Cakes, Pudding, Bottles, sweets, gifts, etc.  Donations can be left in the sacristy or in the parish office.

November Offering

This week’s envelope collection is the November offering for the support of our priest.  We would like to thank parishioners for their continued support which is very much appreciated.

 

St. Paul’s Missals

We have a limited number of St. Paul’s Missals available for sale in the Sacristies and the Parish Office.  The cost of a Missal is €7 again this year.

 

Christmas Cards

A selection of Christmas Day Mass Cards are available for sale from the sacristies and the Parish office.

 

Benedictine Monks of Silverstream Priory: 

The Benedictine Monks of Silverstream Priory invite the clergy, religious and layfold of the Diocese to join them for Vespers, Homily and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament at 5 pm on the first three Sundays of Advent, December 3rd, 10th & 17th  and December 8th – the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

 

WMOF2018 – Meath Volunteers: Reunion

A reunion of the WMOF volunteers from around the diocese of Meath is being organised for Friday, 30th November at 7:30pm in St Mary’s, Navan. It will take the format of a liturgical gathering led by Bishop Deenihan and will be followed by a social function during which a commemorative publication will be launched to mark the commitment of so many volunteers from our diocese.  Check the sign-up/registration at: www.dioceseofmeath.ie/ wmof2018reunion.

Art Group – Christmas Fair

The Stamullen Art Group will host an Exhibition and sale of Arts and Crafts in the Parish Centre, Stamullen on the weekend of 1st and 2nd December.

 

Visit Shrine of Matt Talbot

The free bus will leave at 9:45 am from Julianstown Church on Monday morning and head to Stamullen Church and on into Dublin to the Shrine of Matt Talbot, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Sean McDermott Street where Mass will be celebrated at 11 am.

 

Stamullen Tidy Towns

A table Quiz in support of Stamullen Tidy Towns will take place in Whyte’s Pub, Stamullen on Friday, 23rd November at 8.30.  A table of 4 people €20.00.  Please come along and show your support

A Come and See, Exploring Priesthood Retreat will take place on the 23rd & 24th November in Mount St. Anne’s retreat and Conference Centre, Killenard, Portarlington, Co. Laois. Stamullen Road Club

Christmas Poker Classic on Friday, 30th November. Tickets €25 are selling really well and all support is appreciated.  I really want to say a big ‘thank you’ to the people who have given prizes for the Raffle at this Poker.  This was not expected at all but a very welcome gesture.

Whyte’s Pub-Restaurant Christmas Draw with profits being donated to Stamullen Road Club will be taking place on Saturday, 22nd December in Whyte’s. Already other local business people, Dee’s Barbers, Centra Supermarket, Shane Curran’s Butchers have all expressed their willingness to allow their premises as a sales outlet for tickets and there will be more outlets announced in the coming weeks.  The tickets are available at €2 each or a Book of three for €5. First prize this year will be €500 cash, 2nd €300 and 3rd €200 with more very seasonal prizes, total (10).

 

St.  Patrick’s Club – Lotto

Drogheda Special Olympics

Drogheda Special Olympics Club are recruiting new volunteers.

The club provides sports training and competition for athletes with an intellectual disability. If you have some free time please consider joining our volunteer team.  For more information please contact – Club Secretary 083-0527492.

 

Young at Heart Christmas Party

MIC, St. Patrick’s campus

MIC, St Patrick’s Campus, Thurles Open Day is on Saturday, 24th November from 10am to 2pm. This is a must attend event for all aspiring post-primary teachers and will include information on our full suite of degrees, including our new BA in Education, Mathematics and Gaeilge.

On the day information will also be available on MIC’s undergraduate entrance scholarships, worth €2,000 each, on offer to first year students undertaking study at MIC, St Patrick’s Campus, Thurles.
