Parish Pilgrimage to Rome

We have returned from a very successful Parish pilgrimage in Rome.  Twenty-three people made the pilgrimage and all the major basilicas in Rome were visited.  We were also fortunate to visit Assisi, associated with St. Francis, and the Papal residence in Castel Gandolfo.  On Tuesday last we were in St. Peter’s Square for the recitation of the Angelus led by Pope Francis.

We encountered many blessings on the trip, not least the fact that the temperatures had dropped by ten degrees from the previous week.  While conditions were still hot they were bearable.  Security has been stepped up in Rome, which sadly is now a necessity as evidenced in the recent tragedy of Barcelona.  This can mean long queues at metal detectors, but on our trip the queues were minimal which was to our advantage.  There was a great camaraderie, and a spirit of prayer and unity between our pilgrims.  We rejoiced that we had the opportunity to follow the footsteps of St. Peter and be inspired by our Christian faith.

During our time in Rome, I prayed for the sick and deceased of the parish and also for all the parishioners, that they receive many blessings from the Lord.                                                                                                                                                Fr. Declan

CHY Certificates – Charity Relief for the Parish

Parishioners will be aware that, as a registered charity, the parish is eligible under the Revenue scheme to claim tax back on donations received.

Therefore we will be posting CHY4 Certificates over the next few weeks.  (This Certificate replaces the old CHY2 system). Parishioners who donated over €250 per annum should receive the Certificate.

Revenue have made some changes to the options available and one change is the option to complete a five year Certificate (CHY4).  We will print a blank CHY4 on the back of the CHY3.  Parishioners can complete their details on this form instead and return.  (You can opt out of this five year certificate at any time).

If you prefer to continue with the Annual certificate, this is not a problem, simply complete and sign the CHY3 for 2015 and/or 2016 and return.

We thank all parishioners for their continued support which is very much appreciated.
