Safeguarding Children in the Diocese of Meath

Bishop Deenihan has invited the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI) to conduct a review of safeguarding practice in the diocese of Meath

Stephen and Carol (our Parish Safeguarding Representatives), together with Fr. Declan, attended a Diocesan Meeting this week to update us on Safeguarding guidelines among other issues.

During the meeting we were advised to invite Parishioners to check the Meath Diocesan website, www.meathsafeguarding.ie, to make themselves aware of Safeguarding initiatives in our Diocese.  The Meath Safeguarding Website has been updated and all relevant information is now easier to navigate.  Parishioners are encouraged to look at the Website and alert themselves to procedures and policies.

Members of Children’s Liturgy teams and parents of children who attend on Sunday mornings are asked to familiarise themselves with the policies and procedures on the Website.

If anyone has a concern regarding safeguarding in our parish, please contact Stephen or Carol in confidence on 01-8412647.

The DLP (Designated Liaison Person) in Meath is Marie O’Sullivan. Marie can be contacted on 083-3175742 or e-mail:  dlp@dioceseofmeath.ie.
