Diocesan News:  For two years the Vocations Committee published a calendar to promote vocations in the diocese, highlighting the various ministries and activities in our parishes. This year the committee has produced a candle and a prayer card. The purpose is to invite people to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send labourers into the harvest. The candle is beautifully made and comes in glass. The candle is accompanied by a prayer card with the St Joseph’s Young Priests Society prayer. The image used is Christ the Priest. The committee would like to encourage families in the Diocese to light the candle in their homes over Christmas. The candle will be available in coming weeks. The cost is €5.

The diocese is blessed to have five students: Deacon Kevin Connolly and Fergal Cummins in Maynooth, Tony Shannon in the Irish College, Rome, Norman Alred in the Beda College, Rome and Colin Dunne also in the Beda. Colin commenced his studies for the priesthood this year.   Please pray for them and the men currently in contact with Fr. Joe and Fr. Shane.

Walk along the avenue of Pumpkins (supplied by Kennedy Pumpkin Patch and carved by a team of Witches)  Meet the mystics, Emer and Margo and find out what’s in store for you.  Try out Apple Dunking or bite the swinging apple!  Grab a Hot dog and try the scrumptious toasted marshmallows and wash it down with some tea/coffee and a bun.  Drinks  for the children.  There is a nominal donation of €5 per family to cover costs, but if you would like to bake a few ghostly buns for us, we would be delighted!  Please try and leave the car at home as parking facilities are very limited.  Hope to see you there!
