Stamullen Road Club

Lady Dixon Park in Belfast was the venue last weekend for our cycle cross competitors and once again it proved good hunting ground for the crew.  Very well done to Arek Klus, who was up with the leading rider very close to the finish line, only to puncture.  However, with a quick change of bike, Arek still managed to finish on the Podium, taking 3rd place. In the Girls Under 14 Race, again, it was Aoibhinn Sharkey who was to the fore, finishing in 3rd place and delighted with herself, as was Stamullen RC.

This weekend, it’s a shut-down as all interest is in the World Road Race Cycling Championships in Harrogate, Yorkshire.  The long awaited Elite Road Race Championship will be taking place on Sunday with Ireland being represented by Dan Martin, Sam Bennett, Rory Townsend, Eddie Dunbar, Ryan Mullen (from Duleek) and Conor Dunne. The race will be contested over a total distance of 285km and will have live coverage on Eurosport.
