The Irish Catholic Newspaper

The Irish Catholic Newspaper is an Irish weekly Catholic newspaper, providing news and commentary about the Catholic Church and other issues.

The 32-page broadsheet paper is delivered worldwide. The newspaper is managed by a private limited company and is independent of the Roman Catholic hierarchy in Ireland.

A limited number of copies of this Newspaper are available to purchase here in the parish.

Copies are left on the table beside the Newsletters in Julianstown and in the side foyer (above the Newsletters) in Stamullen.  If you wish to take a copy, the cost is €2, which can be left in the box provided.

 

Adoration – Summer times

  • Adoration continues in Julianstown on Wednesdays from 9 am and after 10 am Mass.  (Contact Josephine if you wish to add your name to the list).

 

Diocesan News

Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock:  11th August

Led by Bishop Tom Deenihan with the Meath Diocesan Choir. Confession from 11 am to 5 pm.  Anointing of the Sick at 2:30 pm.  Pilgrimage Mass at 3 pm followed by Benediction, Rosary, Procession to the Shrine and Blessing of Religious objects.  For further details contact www.knockshrine.ie. Young Adult Catholic Conference

The annual Young Adult Catholic Conference takes place in All Hallows College, Dublin on Saturday, 31st August and Sunday, 1st September.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Bishop Deenihan will lead the 2019 Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes which takes place from 9th to 14th September 2019.

Meath Lourdes Hospitality Group

If parishioners know any Hospital pilgrims who would like to travel with the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, from 9th to 14th September, and need some help with the fare, please contact Lily on 087-6978783.

 

Gormanston Beach Clean-up – Monday

The next Clean up of Gormanston Beach will take place at 7pm at Delvin River Viaduct this Monday, 5th August.

Clean up generally runs from the Delvin River’s Bremore Beach to Ben Head cliffs.  All equipment supplied in co-operation with Meath County Council.

 

Stamullen Road Club

Over the past few weeks the club riders, including our younger brigade have been doing quite well.

Craig Sweetman won R5 of the Mark Mullen Memorial League in Donore, while his young son, Toby, also had a nice win in the U12 race.  Aoibhinn Sharkey has been bringing in some great results both in the north and south in recent weeks. Last week in the Brendan Campbell Memorial race in Drogheda both of these young riders where prize winners in their respective categories.  Arek, is now back to full racing following a short break for studying.

Saturday: Mountnugent GP in Mountnugent at 7pm.

Sunday: Leinster Autumn Classic, promoted by Drogheda Wheelers and will be held in Bellewstown, starting at 10:30 am.

Monday: Youth racing at Corkagh-Park, Dublin at 18:30 pm.

Tuesday: Mondello Series R13 19:30 pm.

Meath Partnership – S Scheme

Exciting opportunity to avail of 19.5 hours work placement in your local area. Meath Partnership is currently seeking to expand the number of participants on the Tús Scheme. Tús is a one year community work placement scheme for people who are unemployed for more than 12 months and in receipt of a Jobseeker’s payment. Participants receive a top up payment while maintaining all secondary benefits. Minimum payment is €225.50 per week. You will also receive dedicated one to one career support, C. V. preparation, interview skills and accredited training throughout the year.

Type 2 diabetes Course

Dietitian led X-PERT course for Type 2 Diabetes will be starting in St. Peter’s C.O.I  Hall, Peter Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth on Tuesday, 27th August, 2019.
