Loving and healing god
We turn to you in prayer,
Confident that you are with us and with all people in every moment.
We stand before you as people of hope,
trusting in your care and protection,
May your faithful love support us and soothe the anxiety of our hearts.
————-
When unable to receive Jesus in Holy Communion, parishioners are invited, during the time of Holy Communion, to make a spiritual communion using the following words:
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament,
I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly in you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen
Dear Parishioners
So far, I have been delighted with our return of Sunday Public worship.
As confidence grows our numbers are starting to return. However, the fact that we have lost 50% of our capacity in both churches remains problematic. This is especially so in Stamullen Church.
I would like to put on record my appreciation to the parishioners who are co-operating with the health and safety operation.
We have put a special emphasis on wearing masks, and in both churches last weekend compliance was 99%. Parishioners are to be applauded for their adherence on this as I have recently visited other churches and the wearing of masks is much less. Hopefully this will continue, and we continue to encourage parishioners to wear masks when possible.
To my knowledge, churches so far have not experienced any outbreaks of the epidemic. On our part we will continue to keep our health and safety measures in place so that we can do our part. Ultimately, we do it because it is the right thing to do.
I would also like to thank our church stewards who are guiding parishioners in both our churches to maintain physical distancing, and also our cleaners who disinfect the churches after each Mass. We are counting on their continued support.
Fr. Declan

First Friday calls
We hope to resume first Friday calls in September subject to Government guidelines.
If parishioners know of anyone who would like Fr. Declan to call to them, please contact the Parish Office.
Parish (Ten!) Week Draw
The parish Draw will resume next Sunday, 16th August in the Parish Centre, Stamullen. We finished on week Six so we will recommence there.
We propose that we run three draws next week and two on Sunday 23rd in order to finish the draw and to minimise the indoor congregating of people.
Because of these restrictions the draw will be confined to promoters only, in order to maintain distancing of two meters.
Sacraments in the Parish:
Baptisms
We have dates available for Baptisms. Please contact the parish office for more information.
First Communion
First Communion Ceremonies for children from Whitecross NS will take place on Saturday, 5th September.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the Irish Catholic each week please contact Carol at the Parish office (01-8412647 or e-mail secretary@sjparish.ie). The cost of the paper is €2 and will be available in both churches
CHY Certificates – Charity Relief for the Parish
Parishioners will be aware that, as a registered charity, the parish is eligible under the Revenue scheme to claim tax back on donations received.
We will be posting CHY Certificates over the next few weeks. Parishioners who donated over €250 per annum should receive the Certificate.
We thank all parishioners for their continued support which is very much appreciated.
There is an option to complete a five-year Certificate (CHY4). We will print a blank CHY4 on the back of the CHY3. If you wish to Parishioners can complete their details on this form instead and return. (You can opt out of this five-year certificate at any time).
If you prefer to continue with the Annual certificate, this is not a problem, simply complete and sign your chosen option and return.
