Parish Finances

A brief explanation of Parish Finances.

What happens to the money that is put into the Offertory baskets and Envelopes every Sunday?

The money that is put into the offertory baskets is used for the everyday running costs of our Parish. This includes heating, lighting, maintenance of our parochial buildings, Insurance of all parish properties (€9,027.80 this year) the diocesan Cess (€7,754 this year) phone, wages, equipment, bank charges, church requisites, office and stationary needs.

What is the Diocesan Cess?

One substantial expense which the parish incurs annually is the diocesan cess.

This is a Levy that every parish must make towards the administration of our Diocese.

In our Diocese there are expenses such as: Education, Youth ministry, Accord, Diocesan Mission, Sacrament preparation and the education of seminarians.

What happens to the money in the weekly envelopes?

The Envelopes contribute to the capital expenses of our parish which are the building projects: work on the Roofs, heating systems, painting of churches, car park maintenance and general upkeep of all buildings and the grounds.

The Special Envelopes cover - List of the Dead, Propagation of the Faith (Mission Sunday), Peter’s Pence, Candlemas, Vocations Sunday, Patron Day. (Propagation of the Faith, Vocations Sunday and Peter’s Pence are sent to the Diocesan office).

Offering collections

There are four collection Envelopes which support the Priest of our Parish: Easter, June, November and Christmas Offerings.

How can you help your Parish?

We depend on the voluntary contributions of parishioners for the running and development of our Parish.

You may contribute to this in the following ways:

Plate collection

You may contribute to our parish by donating to the plate collection at Masses each weekend.

All money from this collection goes towards the day to day running of our parish.

Envelope and Standing Order

You may contribute by taking a box of envelopes. These are distributed at the beginning of the year.

Envelopes can be returned at weekend Masses or you may return your envelopes to our parish office.

You may contribute by arranging a Standing Order with your bank. If you choose to do so, you can choose monthly, three monthly or yearly contribution.

So many of our Parishioners already contribute using envelopes or by standing order. Others contribute at the weekend in the Plate collection.

We are very grateful to you all.

If you wish to support our parish via standing order, please use the following Account details:
