First Friday Calls

Fr. Brendan will visit homes on Thursday, 2nd and Friday 3rd October.

If you or a family member would like Fr. Brendan to call, or if you know someone who would appreciate a call, please contact our Parish Office.

If you have a family member, or know someone in hospital who would appreciate a visit from a Priest, it is very important that you contact our Parish Office and advise Hospital, Ward etc.

Due to GDPR Restrictions, we are unable to obtain this information from the Hospital.

Parish Pastoral Council (P.P.C.)

Our Parish Pastoral Council have been preparing some Special ceremonies for our Parish.

The first of these Special Ceremonies will take place as we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

The animals of God's creation inhabit the skies, the earth, and the sea. They share in the ways of human beings. They have a part in our family lives.

St. Francis of Assisi recognised this when he called the animals, wild and tame, his brothers and sisters.

Remembering Francis' love for God’s creation, we invite Families and individuals to bring along their family pets for a special blessing on Sunday, 5th October after all Masses. Blessings of animals will take place at 10:40 outside the front door of St. Patrick’s Church, Stamullen and at 12:10 pm outside the back door of St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown.

We will ask God's blessing on these animals, and we thank God for letting us share the earth with all the creatures.

We look forward to seeing all creatures great and small- (we just ask that owners take care to please keep their pets and others safe and secure on the day!!)

“Praised be to you my Lord, with all your creatures” – St. Francis of Assisi.

Sacramental Preparation

First Confession, Holy Communion & Confirmation

Questions people ask:

Do you need to be baptised before you receive the Sacrament of First Confession, Holy Communion or Confirmation ? The answer is YES.

If this is something relevant to you, please contact our Parish Office.

Confirmation

Choosing a new name for Confirmation is an ancient and honourable tradition. Taking a new name can be symbolic of a new stage in life.

Your prayerful reflection will help your child discern their Confirmation name. The Priests of the Parish will offer further guidance to your child.

The Confirmation name chosen by your child must be the name or a variation of a Biblical figure, a Saint or a Blessed.

Choosing a Confirmation Sponsor

This is an important time in your child’s spiritual development as they mature in their faith and begin to make important religious decisions for themselves. They need the support of a person of faith who lives by the Spirit. The following should be considered when choosing a Sponsor: (Ref. Code of Canon Law 874)

  • Sponsors must be at least sixteen years of age.
  • A Confirmed Catholic who has received the Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.
  • A practising Catholic who attends Mass regularly.

Our Parish Pastoral Council would like to advise the date for the Parents/guardians talk and introduction is Tuesday, 7th October at 7:30 pm in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown.

Parents/Guardians of children preparing for Confirmation and First Confession/First Communion are invited to attend.

This is a very exciting year for your child, your family and our Parish and we look forward to walking side by side with you on this journey of faith.

May the Lord bless us all, as we share in the Love of God together.

We ask parishioners to pray for the children and their families as they prepare for the Sacraments next year.
