Use of the Family Room in St. Mary’s Church during Mass
In recent weeks, a number of parishioners have raised concerns regarding noise levels in the main body of the church during Mass.
At the same time, families with young children have expressed difficulty accessing our Family Room (the glassed in area), as it is often occupied by adults.
The glassed-in area (Family Room), is intended primarily for parents with young children and for adults with additional needs/mobility issues. When used in this way, it helps to create a more prayerful and reverent atmosphere for all attending Mass.
We warmly encourage young families and those with additional needs/mobility issues to make use of our Family Room when necessary. Likewise, we invite all other parishioners to be seated in the main body of our church.
We are mindful that some parishioners have used our Family Room for a considerable time. However, with the growing numbers attending Mass, we kindly ask you to consider the needs of others who rely on this space, and to make use of the main body of the church whenever possible.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping make our parish a welcoming place for all.
