Sunday 12 October 2025

R. I. P.

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the souls of Maureen Reynolds, whose funeral took place during the week and Patrick (Paddy) Price (brother of Ann Connolly) whose funeral took place recently.

Please remember all bereaved families in your prayers

Blessing of Animals

Thank you to everyone who joined us after Mass last Sunday for the Blessing of Pets! We were delighted to see such a wonderful turnout - dogs, cats, a budgie, and even a whole team of horses!

Thanks to all who participated and to the animals, who were so well behaved!

Sacramental Preparation

We would like to thank all parents/guardians who attended our Sacramental Preparation Talk this week.

We were delighted to see so many come out to show their desire to be part of this wonderful journey of faith with their children and their parish.

It was a truly uplifting evening and we are very grateful to our guest speakers - our Diocesan Faith Development Officer Elaine Campbell and Fr. John Hughes for their inspiring and enlightening contributions.

We ask parents to please hold on to your Enrolment Forms. These forms will be presented during the Enrolment Ceremonies.

Dates for Enrolment Ceremonies, Preparation Masses and First Communion Ceremonies will be e-mailed next week.

Our sincere thanks once again to all our parents for attending and to our Parish Pastoral Council members for their input on the night.

This is a very exciting time for our young parishioners, their families and our Parish.

May the Lord bless us all, as we share in His love together.

We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families as they prepare for the Sacraments next year.

Prayers for the Pre-Synodal Assembly of the Catholic Church in Ireland

All Catholics are invited to pray for a special gathering – A Pre-Synodal Assembly of the Catholic Church in Ireland - which will take place in Kilkenny on 18th October.

This assembly is an important juncture on the journey towards a National Synodal Assembly to be held in 2026.

Around 240 people will attend and these are drawn from each diocese on the island, Religious Congregations and Church movements.

A preparatory document, entitled Baptised and Sent - the fruits of listening sessions across Ireland last spring - will be the basis for discussion at this gathering, and for the next stage of the journey of renewal. Central to the document is a renewed focus on baptism as the foundation of our Christian dignity, unity, and mission and how baptism infuses the life and mission of the Church in Ireland today and into the future.

You are invited to read this document by visiting www.synod.ie/baptised-and-sent-preparatory-document-available-now/

Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guide the conversations at Kilkenny, and those flowing from it, as we walk together as sisters and brothers of Christ, united by our baptism and filled with hope.
