Prayer as we return to School
We thank you Lord, for all that was good during the summer,
For the love of our family and friends,
And for the sunshine and warm days.
As we begin a new school year, we ask for your help and pray your blessing
on all in our Parish Schools.
Show them how to work together
for the good of all.
May they share their talents and abilities to the full and grow in knowledge,
wisdom and happiness.
Give them the grace to become more like Jesus in the ways they think and behave. During this school year let our young parishioners become builders of your ways and instruments of your peace.
We ask this school year blessing through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen

Parish Pastoral Council
There is a variety of gifts but always the same Spirit; there are all sorts of service to be done, but always the same Lord; working in all sorts of different people, it is the same God who is working in all of them.”
(I Cor. 12:4-6).
Parishes in the Diocese have been asked to establish Parish Pastoral Council. This Councils’ fundamental task is to discern the pastoral needs of our Parish and explore ways to support the priests of the parish in responding adequately to those needs.
The PPC would act as a visible, practical and local sign of synodality of the people of God walking together on the path of the Gospel.’ Guided by the Holy Spirit. (Bishop Deenihan)
Pope Francis describes pastoral councils as: ‘The presence of God in a given territory, an environment for hearing God’s word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, proclamation, charitable outreach, worship and celebration’.
With this in mind, we hope to establish a Parish Pastoral Council and a Parish Finance Committee before the end of the year.
In the coming weeks we will be asking for suggestions via e-mail, as to who would be suitable parishioners for these important roles in assisting the priests in planning for the future of our Parish.
