Year of Mercy
To mark the beginning of the Holy Year of Mercy, our local parishes are combining in a celebration of God’s forgiveness and healing which is open to everyone.
The Celebration will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Drogheda on Sunday 13th December at 5:30pm. The Guest Speaker will be FR. John Harris OP. Priests will be available for confession after the talk.
The Year of mercy is the opportune moment to change our lives.
Please pass on the word, that the message of Mercy will reach everyone!
Christmas Blessing Cards
A selection of Christmas Blessing Cards for Christmas Day Mass will be on sale in the sacristy
and from the Parish Office from next week. The greeting inside will read ‘You will be remembered at
Mass in Stamullen/Julianstown Parish, Christmas Day 2015’.
Christmas Arrangements
We wish to advise parishioners that the Christmas Eve Family Masses will take place at 4:30 pm in
Stamullen and 6:30 in Julianstown.
If you wish to book a Mass intention for Christmas or the new year, please contact the parish office to
ensure it is printed in the Newsletter.
Vocations – Diocesan Calendars
The Meath Diocese has launched a special calendar to promote vocations to the priesthood in our Diocese.
The calendar features familiar faces from the Diocese, including Bishop Michael Smith. It is a beautiful production
full of colour. The purpose of the calendar is to celebrate God’s gift of priesthood and to bring it closer to us.
The cost is €5 and proceeds go to vocations promotion. A limited number of calendars are available from the sacristy after all Masses this weekend.
Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina evenings continue on Wednesdays during Advent at 7:00 pm in the Parish Room/Office Preston Hill. Parishioners are invited to come along to discern and pray the Gospel for the following Sunday.
Ceremonies in the Parish: Baptisms this weekend
This weekend we welcome in baptism: Robyn Maxwell & Abigail O’Connor Barry. May these newly baptised
children always know and love Jesus as their friend. We welcome these children into the Parish Community and ask
parishioners to pray for them and their families.

Adoration Christmas Recess
Adoration in Stamullen ends for Christmas Recess on 17th December and resumes on January 14th.

Fund Raising Committee – Bingo
Thanks to everyone who supported the recent Bingo in City North Hotel.

Irish Catholic Newspaper
The Irish Catholic Newspaper is issuing a special 1916 edition of the Newspaper on 17th December.
The usual number of editions will be available but if parishioners would like to order a copy please contact
the parish office on Monday morning (14th December) and one can be put aside for you.

parish in Whyte’s of Stamullen on Wednesday, 16th December from 3:30 pm.

St. Vincent dePaul
- Dunne’s Centra, Stamullen have a collection point in store for the donation of food items for the Parish Conference.
All donations will be distributed to families in need locally.
Giving Tree
We are accepting gifts for the ‘Giving Tree’ again this year. Please take a Tag from the tree/box, attach to an unwrapped gift
and leave on the Altar/under the tree – during Mass times only. All gifts will be distributed locally. Thank you.
Stamullen M Donnelly RC
Tickets are now widely available for our Monster Christmas Draw which will take place next Saturday, 19th December. Support for this draw would be most welcome as this is a major fundraiser for the 2016 cycle racing season. First prize €1,000 & 11 other very valuable prizes on offer. The tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are available at the following outlets: Whytes Bar/Restaurant, Shane’s Butchers, Centra Supermarket, Dee’s Barbers, Launderland and Kay’s Stores in Greenanstown, as well as from any club member. There will be music and craic on the night.
We will also hold a small Auction on this night in aid of Stamullen Parish Funds. Some of the items listed for the Auction:

St. Patricks NS Parents Association Mince Pie Morning
The Parents Association from St. Patrick’s NS are hosting a Mince Pie morning on Wednesday 16th December from 10am – 12.30 pm in Whyte’s Pub. Come along and enjoy a cuppa and a mince pie and support them. Christmas draw will be held with tickets available to buy on the morning.

Gormanston College Development
Gormanston Park Ltd wish to invite locals to to invite you to an open evening at Gormanston Park on the 16th of December from 7pm to 8pm.
We intend that evening to unveil our plans for the future development of the facilities at the College and along with exciting new facilities
planned as part of a development strategy. Proposed drawings will be displayed to the community. The key members involved in the project will
be in attendance and will give an overview of the development scheme and answer any questions from the local community about this exciting project.
Tea, Coffee and refreshments will be served at the event which will take place in the dining hall at Gormanston Park. All are welcome.
The Battle of Julianstown – Book

the Battle that took place along the banks of the Nanny River at Julianstown in 1641 & 42 between Irish Insurgents under
Phelim O`Neill and Rory O`Moore against the English forces, led by Patrick Wemys and the Governor of Drogheda Henry Tichborne.
Memorial Road Race
The Robbie Byrne 5k memorial Road Race & Fun run will take place at Claremont Stadium on 27th December at 12 noon. Enter on line at www.navanac.ie Fee is €15 online or €20 on the day.
