Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Dr. John Anthony (Jack) Jolley whose funeral took place this week.  We remember the bereaved in our prayers.

 

Feast of the Immaculate Conception

On Thursday 8th December we will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.  Masses will take place at 10 am in Stamullen and 11 am in Julianstown.

Bingo Night

We would like to thank the members of the committee who work very hard behind the scenes to arrange the two Bingo nights for the Parish: Therese O’Donovan, Pauline Clarkin and Carol McKiernan.  Thanks also to their friends and family who help out on the night, without this support the bingo would not be the success it is.

 

Stamullen Church – Christmas preparations

A group of parishioners have set aside Tuesday, 13th December to meet from 1:30 pm to clean and prepare Stamullen Church for Christmas ceremonies. If you are available at that time and would like to get invoived then just come along.  Many hands make light work …. and all help is appreciated.

 

First Communion Preparations –

We ask you to pray for all our young parishioners, as they prepare for these important steps in their faith journey.

 

Adoration

As next Thursday, 8th December is a Holy Day, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Adoration will not take place in Stamullen Church and will return the New Year.

 

Children’s Liturgy

Julianstown Childrens Liturgy group will once again perform a Nativity Play this year during the Christmas Eve Mass.  We would love to see as many Children as possible take part and particularly children preparing for First Holy Communion.

Rehearsals will take place  (in the Church) this Friday (2nd December) and every Friday from now until  23rd, December from 2.45 – 3.30.  (Parent/guardian must attend the first rehearsal to provide contact details etc.,)

 

St. Pauls Missals 2017

A limited number of Missals are on sale in the Sacristy.  The cost of a Missal is €7. 

 

Christmas Blessing Cards

We have a selection of Christmas Blessing Cards for Christmas Day Mass on sale in the Sacristy and the Parish office from next weekend.  The cards will cost €2 each.  The greeting inside will read “You will be remembered at Christmas Day Mass in Stamullen / Julianstown Parish this Christmas”.

 

Youth 2000 – Christmas Youth Retreat

Youth 2000 will host a Christmas youth Retreat in Newbridge College, Co. Kildare from 16th – 18th December for ages 16-35 (ID required). This fantastic free (donation only) annual Catholic youth event attracts around 600-700 young people each year from all over Ireland.  For more information check www.youth2000.ie or contact the national office on 01-6753690 or email office@youth2000.ie.

 

St. Vincent dePaul

The local conference of St. Vincent dePaul will hold their annual collection at all Masses this weekend 3rd/4th December.  We are very grateful for your continued support.

 

Stamullen Art Group – Christmas Fair

Stamullen Art Group are holding a Christmas Fair in the Parish Centre, Stamullen this weekend on Saturday from 5-7 pm or Sunday from 9 am – 12 pm

Why not call in and browse or pick up a gift for christmas..  We will have Art, Crafts, Cakes, hand knitwear, and a Raflle over the weekend.

Stamullen Tidy Towns

Stamullen Tidy Towns, in conjunction with the business people of Stamullen, are embarking on a major expansion and upgrade of the Christmas Lighting throughout the village and the display around the pump in the centre of the village.

The switch on of the lights and display will take place on Sunday, 11th December at 5 pm with the arrival of the large gentleman in the red suit!! We would ask that parents bring their children along for an informal sing-along of a few of our favourite Carols – Away in a Manger, Silent Night, You Better Watch Out and We Wish you a Merry Christmas.  Everyone get practising!!

Santa and his band of helpers will distribute gifts to all the children in Whyte’s and we hope for good weather on the day.  Looking forward to seeing you all.

 

Stamullen Road Club – Fund Raising for 2017

Last Friday night’s Christmas Poker Classic in Whyte’s was a brilliant success. It was a ‘full-house’ and at the end of the night, Paddy Reilly from Bellewstown came out on top.

Tickets for our Christmas Draw which will take place on Saturday night 17th December in Whyte’s are selling very well. If you are in the area and want to put yourself in with a chance to win €1,000 cash or any other of eleven great prizes for just €2 each or three for €5, please get your tickets in any of the following premises: Kay’s Stores, Greenanstown, or Launderland, Centra, Shane’s Butchers, Dees Barbers or Whytes Bar in Stamullen. We always appreciate support for this Draw.

This Draw is the main fundraiser for the club for the 2017 cycle race season and every effort is being made to make it a resounding success.  We depend greatly on the generosity of the local community for their support and they never let us down.

Auction: Following this Draw we will be holding an Auction and all money raised from same will go to Stamullen Parish Fund The proceeds will be handed over to Fr. Declan on the night. If you wish to support this Auction by donating an item (new), please contact any member of Stamullen Road Club

 

St. Patrick’s NS Stamullen Mince Pie Morning

The Parents Association from St. Patrick’s NS are hosting a Mince Pie morning on Wednesday, 14th December from 10 am to 12:30 pm in Whyte’s Pub, Stamullen.  Come along and enjoy a cuppa and mince pie.  Tickets will be available for a Christmas draw on the morning.

Bracelet found

A bracelet was found in the car park at Stamullen Church on Friday morning (25th Novemer).  Please contact the parish office for more details.

 

Hope for Homeless H4H

Hope for Homeless are appealing for donations of back packs, (empty or filled).  We hope to be able  to give all our homeless friends a gift of a backpack containing warm clothes, toiletries, etc. Donations of socks and underwear (new please) for both male and female, also accept toiletries, second hand clothing and footwear for adults.  Donations of toiletries and food and drink items can be dropped into Angela in the Physio and Sports Clinic and donations of warm clothing and footwear can be dropped into Emma in Launderland, Stamullen.

We will be providing Christmas dinners and have an account with Shane Curran.  Drop in to Shane if you wish to donate.

Balscadden School Annual Christmas Fair

Annual Christmas Fair will take place on Sunday 4th December 2016 from 9.30am to 2pm in Balscadden School Gym including Raffle, Bake Sale, Craft Stalls (some new Exhibitors added this year).  Refreshments, Christmas Gifts made by the children of Balscadden School & lots more including Magic Carl (Children’s Entertainer). Admission free.

 

 

Ardee Collon Parish Christmas Concert

Ardee-Collon Parish presents Mary Duff Christmas Concert with special guests Mary Byrne, X Factor and Nigel Connell, Voice of Ireland in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee on Thursday 15th December at 8pm.
