Ceremonies in the Parish: Baptism
This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Ryan Brodigan, Sarah & Phoebe Moore and Reuben Reilly. May these newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend. We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families.
Stamullen Church – Christmas preparations
A group of parishioners have set aside Tuesday, 13th December to meet from 1:30 pm to clean and prepare Stamullen Church for Christmas ceremonies. If you are available at that time and would like to get involved then just come along. Many hands make light work …. and all help is appreciated.
Christmas ceremonies
- Confessions: An opportunity for Confession will take place after 10 am Mass in Stamullen on Thursday 22ndand Julianstown on Friday, 23rd until 10:45 am.
- Christmas Eve Family Masses will be held at 4:30 pm in Stamullen and 6:30 pm in Julianstown.
- Vigil Masses will take place at 9 pm in both churches. The choirs will sing Carols from 8:30 pm.
- Christmas Day Masses will take place at 10 am in Stamullen and 11:30 am in Julianstown.
- If you wish to book a Mass intention for Christmas or the New Year please contact the parish office to ensure it is printed in the Newsletter.
Whitecross School Carol Service
The Whitecross School Carol Service will take place on Wednesday, 21st December at 7:30 pm in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown. All Welcome.
Children’s Liturgy Julianstown
Julianstown Childrens Liturgy group will once again perform a Nativity Play this year during the Christmas Eve Mass. We would love to see as many Children as possible take part and particularly children preparing for First Holy Communion.
Rehearsals will take place (in the Church) this Friday (2nd December) and every Friday from now until 23rd, December from 2.45 – 3.30. (Parent/guardian must attend the first rehearsal to provide contact details etc.,)
St. Pauls Missals 2017
A limited number of Missals are on sale in the Sacristy. The cost of a Missal is €7.
True Light Prayer Group
Meetings for 2016 will conclude with the celebration of Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Seamus Heaney, on Tuesday 13th December at 8pm. Meetings will resume on Tuesday 10th January 2017. We pray for the peace of the Child Jesus to be in all hearts this Holy Season. All welcome, bring a friend.
Christmas Blessing Cards
We have a selection of Christmas Blessing Cards for Christmas Day Mass on sale in the Sacristy and the Parish office. The cards will cost €2 each. The greeting inside will read “You will be remembered at Christmas Day Mass in Stamullen/ Julianstown Parish this Christmas”.
St. Vincent de Paul
- Thank you to all who supported the St. Vincent de Paul annual collection last weekend. All donations raised locally will be distributed locally.
- Thanks to Dunnes Centra, Stamullen who have allowed a collection point in store for the receipt of donated food items for the Parish Conference. All donations will be distributed to families in need locally.
St. Vincent de Paul Giving Tree
Once again this year parishioners are invited to take a tag from the Giving Tree and leave a gift for an adult or child. Please leave new, unwrapped gifts, during Mass times only.
St. Patrick’s NS Stamullen – Mince Pie Morning
The Parents Association from St. Patrick’s NS are hosting a Mince Pie morning on Wednesday, 14th December from 10 am to 12:30 pm in Whyte’s Pub, Stamullen. Come along and enjoy a cuppa and mince pie. Tickets will be available for a Christmas draw on the morning.
Helping the Drogheda Homeless
Last year a young parishioner collected hot water bottles for distribution to the homeless and there was a great response. This year she is collecting toiletries for distribution. Parishioners are invited to leave donations in the boxes provided in each church. All items collected will be given to Homeless Aid Drogheda.
Stamullen Tidy Towns
Stamullen Tidy Towns, in conjunction with the business people of Stamullen, are embarking on a major expansion and upgrade of the Christmas Lighting throughout the village and the display around the pump in the centre of the village.
The switch on of the lights and display will take place on Sunday, 11th December at 5 pm with the arrival of the large gentleman in the red suit!! We would ask that parents bring their children along for an informal sing-along of a few of our favourite Carols – Away in a Manger, Silent Night, You Better Watch Out and We Wish you a Merry Christmas. Everyone get practising!!
Santa and his band of helpers will distribute gifts to all the children in Whyte’s and we hope for good weather on the day. Looking forward to seeing you all.
Stamullen Road Club – Fund Raising for 2017
Tickets for our Christmas Draw which will take place on Saturday night 17th December in Whyte’s are selling very well. If you are in the area and want to put yourself in with a chance to win €1,000 cash or any other of eleven great prizes for just €2 each or three for €5, please get your tickets in any of the following premises: Kay’s Stores, Greenanstown, or Launderland, Centra, Shane’s Butchers, Dees Barbers or Whytes Bar in Stamullen. We always appreciate support for this Draw.
This Draw is the main fundraiser for the club for the 2017 cycle race season and every effort is being made to make it a resounding success. We depend greatly on the generosity of the local community for their support and they never let us down.
Auction: Following this Draw we will be holding an Auction and all money raised from same will go to Stamullen Parish Fund.

Our Lady’s College, Greenhills – Carol Service
The Our Lady’s College carol service will be presented in the beautiful medieval setting of the Augustinian church. This unique event titled “Nollaig na Bóinne” is a celebration in carols, dance, traditional Irish music, reflection and poetry. Featuring students of the school with special guest Dónal Lunny and local trad group Kern. Augustinian Church, Shop Street, Drogheda on Wednesday 21st December at 7:30 pm. Adm: €7 or €25 for family ticket (2 adults & 2 children).
Sonairte
Come and meet Mr and Mrs Claus and an elf or two at Sonairte on Sunday 11th December; children can personally give their letter and take lots of photos with Santa. Admission is €5 per adult and €10 per child.
Stamullen goal Mile
Stamullen Goal Mile will take place once again this St Stephens Day at 12 pm at St Patrick’s GAA Club , Stamullen, Co. Meath
Please join us to run, walk or jog a mile on the running track and then enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the club house with family, friends and neighbours. Your donation on the day, will go a long way to helping the world’s poorest and most desperate people. This is always a great community event and as well as raising money to help fund GOAL’s good work, it is an occasion to get together and get some fresh air and exercise over Christmas.
