Christmas ceremonies

  • Confessions:  An opportunity for Confession will take place after 10 am Mass in Stamullen on Thursday 22ndand Julianstown on Friday, 23rd until 10:45 am.
  • Christmas Eve Family Masses will be held at 4:30 pm in Stamullen and 6:30 pm in Julianstown.
  • Vigil Masses will take place at 9 pm in both churches.  (The choirs will sing Carols from 8:30 pm).
  • Christmas Day Masses will take place at 10 am in Stamullen and 11:30 am in Julianstown.
  • If you wish to book a Mass intention for Christmas or the New Year please contact the parish office before Wednesday, 21stto ensure it is printed in the Newsletter.

 

Parish Office

The Parish Office will close for Christmas Holidays at 12:30 pm on Thursday 22nd December and re-open on Wednesday, 4th January at 9:30 pm.

Whitecross School Carol Service

The Whitecross School Carol Service will take place on Wednesday, 21st December at 7:30 pm in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown.  All Welcome.

 

Julianstown Church – Cleaning

Julianstown Church cleaning has been arranged for 10 am on Thursday, 22nd December from 10 am.  All welcome to come along and prepare the Church for the Christmas Ceremonies.

 

Meals on Wheels

Julianstown & Stamullen Meals on Wheels would like to wish Happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all our recipients.  Special thanks to our drivers, the Chef, management and staff at the Glenside hotel, all our donors and anybody who helped in any way.  For more information please Contact no 0857222068.

 

St. Pauls Missals 2017

A limited number of Missals are on sale in the Sacristy and from the parish office.  The cost of a Missal is €7. 

 

True Light Prayer Group

Meetings will resume on Tuesday 10th  January 2017.  We pray for the peace of the Child Jesus to be in all hearts this Holy Season.   All welcome,  bring a friend.

 

Christmas Blessing Cards

This is the last weekend Christmas Blessing Cards for Christmas Day Mass wil be on sale in the Sacristy.  The cards cost €2 each.  The greeting inside reads “You will be remembered at Christmas Day Mass in Stamullen/ Julianstown Parish this Christmas”.

 

St. Vincent dePaul –  Giving Tree

Once again this year parishioners are invited to take a tag from the Giving Tree and leave a gift for an adult or child.  Please leave new, unwrapped gifts, during Mass times only.

Thanks to Dunnes Centra, Stamullen who have allowed a collection point in store for the receipt of donated food items for the Parish Conference.  All donations will be distributed to families in need locally.

 

Stamullen Road Club

The members of the club would like to extend a very happy Christmas to one and all, and a huge thank you to all those who helped the club throughout the year, Sponsors, Volunteers, Supporters, Carol in the Parish Office, Brendan Matthews for keeping the local community up-to-date with club activities.   Finally, heartfelt thanks goes out to the local community for their cooperation during our busy weekend of the Stamullen GP cycle races.  This is always appreciated. I know it’s a little early but come 2017 the club has been allocated Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th April for these annual races.

The results of the Christmas draw will be included in the next Newsletter and in the meantime, we say many thanks to everyone for their great support and this includes all the local business outlets who helped out, Dees Barbers, Whytes Pub, Centra Supermarket, Landerland, Shanes Butchers and not forgetting Kay’s Stores in Greenanstown.

 

St.  Patrick’s Club – Lotto

Helping the Drogheda Homeless

Last year a young parishioner collected hot water bottles for distribution to the homeless and there was a great response.  This year she is collecting toiletries for distribution.   Parishioners are invited to leave donations in the boxes provided in each church.  All items collected will be given to Homeless Aid Drogheda.

 

Stamullen goal Mile

Stamullen Goal Mile will take place once again this St Stephens Day at 12 pm at St Patrick’s GAA Club , Stamullen, Co. Meath

Please join us to run, walk or jog a mile on the running track and then enjoy a cup of tea or coffee  in the club house with family, friends and neighbours. Your donation on the day, will go a long way to helping the world’s poorest and most desperate people. This is always a great community event and as well as raising money to help fund GOAL’s good work, it is an occasion to get together and get some fresh air and exercise over Christmas.

 

Our Lady’s College, Greenhills –  Carol Service

The Our Lady’s College carol service will be presented in the beautiful medieval setting of the Augustinian church.   This unique event titled “Nollaig na Bóinne”  is  a celebration in carols, dance, traditional Irish music, reflection and poetry. Featuring students of the school with special guest Dónal Lunny and local trad group Kern.   Augustinian Church, Shop Street, Drogheda on Wednesday 21st December at 7:30 pm. Adm: €7 or €25 for family ticket (2 adults &  2 children).

 

Hope for Homeless H4H

Hope for Homeless are a local group who organise a soup run on a Monday night in Dublin.  We are appealing for donations of socks and underwear (new please) for both male and female, also toiletries, second hand clothing and footwear for adults.  Donations of toiletries and food and drink items can be dropped into Angela in the Physio and Sports Clinic and donations of warm clothing and footwear can be dropped into Emma in Launderland, Stamullen.  (H4H) contact details are: Rebecca 0868911861, Marie 0868959238, Selenna 0860651723, Bernie 0876793345, Ann 0876290378, Sylvia 0872899644 or Angela 0872213093.  Thanks for your support.
