Fund Raising Committee – Bingo Night

Thanks to all who supported the Bingo Night in the City North Hotel on Wednesday last.  It was a great success and a great night was had by all.

We would like to sincerely thank Diarmuid Everard and his team at Printcom, Coolock once again, for the fantastic signs promoting the Bingo and thanks to Paudge Moore for erecting them.

 

Also all who donated prizes for the raffle including Clarkes Fruit Farm; City North Hotel; O’Connors Pharmacy; Flying Tiger, Dundalk; Specsavers, Balbriggan, and to all the parishioners who donated items.

 

Finally, thanks to management and staff of the City North Hotel, Dave Morgan our Bingo Caller, Joe Tevlin and all who helped on the night….. Thanks to all!

 

 

Christmas Ceremonies

  • Confessions: There will be an opportunity for Confession after 10 am Mass in Stamullen on Thursday, 21stand Julianstown on Friday 22nd  December until 10:45 am on both days.
  • Christmas Eve:  Family Masses will take place at 4:30 pm in Stamullen and 6:30pm in Julianstown.
  • Vigil Masses:  (To be Confirmed)
  • Christmas Day:Masses will take place at 10 am in Stamullen and 11:30 am in Julianstown.
  • If you wish to book a Mass intention for Christmas or the New Year. Please contact the parish office to ensure Intention is printed in the Newsletter.

 

Ceremonies in the Parish:  Baptism

This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Halle Brennan and Ethan Tolan.   May these newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend. We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families.

 

St. Pauls Missals

A limited number of St. Paul’s Missals are available in the Sacristy and from the parish office.  The price for each Missal is €7 again this year.

Carols at the Giving Tree St. Marys’ Julianstown

Julianstown Choir will be having Christmas Carols from 6.30 pm on Saturday 23rd December in St. Mary’s Church Julianstown.

Everyone welcome to come along for Carols old and new. All singers and musicians especially welcome! Donations may be left at the Giving Tree for distribution within the locality by the Society of St. Vincent DePaul.

 

Vocations Candle

Recently we printed information about a Diocesan Vocations candle.  We have had the following message from Bishops Office: “The Vocations Candle promotion will be held off until Vocations Sunday in April. We encourage all parishes to pray for vocations to the priesthood. Please pray for those who are currently discerning with the Vocations Directors.”

 

St. Vincent DePaul – Giving Trees

We are glad to have the Giving Trees in both churches again this Christmas.  You are welcome to leave gifts (during Mass times only please) under the giving tree.  All gifts will be distributed locally.

 

Safeguarding Children

  • We would ask all parents of children attending Children’s Liturgy on Sunday mornings to complete and return consent forms as soon as possible.  More forms are available from Liturgy leaders.
  • If any young people (Under 18) or vulnerable adults join any Adult parish group in the new year we would ask you to contact Carol or Stephen at the Parish office to ensure correct procedures are in place in line with our Parish Safeguarding Policy.
  • Please check Safeguarding information which is displayed on the Noticeboards in both churches.

 

 

Adoration

There will be no Adoration in Stamullen until Thursday 14th January  2018.  Wishing all a very happy Christmas.

 

Stamullen Tidy Towns

All are welcome to join us in Stamullen Village on Sunday evening to sing Christmas Carols and songs and meet Santa who is coming along to see us switch on the lights on the Tree and Christmas display. Come along and join in at 5 pm.

 

Stamullen Road Club

During the past week club members were deeply saddened to lose a very valued member, Sean Cromwell who lived in Stamullen with his family for many years before moving to Balbriggan. Sean was laid to rest in Ardcath on Tuesday. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Olive and all family members.

Friday night’s Poker was a huge success and we congratulate Gerry Moore who emerged as overall winner. We had a full house and more and would very much like to thank everyone for their wonderful support.

With only two weeks to go to our Christmas Draw which will take place on Friday night 22nd December.  Tickets are widely available, at Whyte’s Bar/Restaurant, Shane Curran’s Butchers, Centra Supermarket, Launderland, Kay’s Stores in Greenanstown plus available from all club members. The first prize in this draw is a whooping €1,000 cash, 2nd €300, 3rd €200. plus nine more magnificent prizes.  The tickets are just €2 each or book of 3 for €5. All support welcome.

 

World Meeting of Families 2018

1400 volunteers have now registered with WMOF2018! Thousands more volunteers are needed. Why not consider joining us as a volunteer if you have not already done so?  You can volunteer as an individual or as a group.  The benefits of volunteering as a group include: sharing the volunteering experience with your friends/colleagues, being in the same venue and at the same times, the possibility of travelling together, etc.  In this way, the volunteering experience of World Meeting of Families 2018, lives on well after the event is over.
To volunteer as a group, all you need to do is choose a group name and your group leader’s name; and enter this on your online application. Everyone within that group needs to enter the same group name when they are filling in their Volunteer Online application form.

St. Mary’s Carol Service, Drogheda

Christmas Carols and Reflections around the Crib in St. Mary’s Church, Drogheda on Thursday, 14th December at 7:30pm.

Music and singing will be provided by the Sacred Heart Secondary School, St. Mary’s Diocesan school, Saint Mary’s Parish Primary school, Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal, Timmy Regan, Declan Dunne, Amie Dyer along with other special guests.  A donation box will be available on the night, and all proceeds will go to Drogheda Homeless Aid and Drogheda Women’s and Children’s Refuge Centre.  Looking forward to an evening of festive cheer and prayerful reflection as we entrust ourselves to the care of the Holy Family this Christmas.

 

Ardee-Collon Parish Christmas Concert

Ardee-Collon Parish presents Mary Duff Christmas Concert with special guests Matt Leavy and Ruth Kelly Brady in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee on Thursday 21st December at 8 pm. Admission €20. Tickets are available in the Ardee Parish Office, Monday – Friday 10 am-4 pm (041-6850920).
