Christmas Masses
Since the departure of Fr. Robert we have been fortunate that the Franciscan Community have provided assistance at Christmas and Easter. This has allowed us to maintain our Christmas and Easter Mass schedule up to now. Fr. Malcolm assisted us at Christmas, but this year he was transferred to Multyfarnham during the summer. The fact that he has moved will necessitate a change in the Christmas and Easter schedule.
Obviously I cannot say masses in both churches where there is a time clash. Therefore, I propose to drop the Christmas Eve Mass in Julianstown at 9 pm. The rest of the mass schedule will remain the same. This year poses a particular difficulty for priests in general as Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. I regret very much the change but unfortunately the reduction in clerical numbers and the transfer of the Franciscan Community in Gormanston is now impacting on the parish. The numbers of parishioners attending the evening mass dictates change as well. The revised list is as follows.
Christmas Ceremonies
- Confessions: There will be an opportunity for Confession after 10 am Mass in Stamullen on Thursday, 21stand Julianstown on Friday 22nd December until 10:45 am on both days.
- Christmas Eve: Family Masses will take place at 4:30 pm in Stamullen and 6:30pm in Julianstown.
- Vigil Masses: Vigil Mass of the Nativity will take place at 9 pm in St. Patrick’s church, Stamullen. (There will be NO Vigil Mass in St. Marys Church, Julianstown).
