Pilgrimage to Fatima

The booking forms for the pilgrimage to Portugal and Fatima, August 8th -14th, are now due as the trip will be full shortly. Please pick up a booking Form from the sacristy/parish office and submit it by Thursday, 16th May.

Kieran Troy, will once again lead the Pilgrimage.  This trip will stay in excellent four star accommodation on the Estoril Coast and Fatima with excellent food, all tours, coaches, dinners and baggage fees included in the cost of €935. Excursions include the royal palace at Sintra, the birthplace of St. Anthony in Lisbon and the picturesque seaside resort of Cascais.  The last two nights will be spent in Fatima (two dinners and two lunches included) in a beautiful family run hotel close to the sanctuary. We will have a comprehensive tour of the sanctuary including the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of the Rosary and the tombs of the visionaries, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco. There will be plenty of free time for personal prayer. We will also go to Aljustrel to visit the original homes of the little visionaries, a very moving experience for many people. On the last day we will visit the largest shopping centre in Lisbon for a couple of hours before taking our return flight back to Dublin.

Stamullen Road Club

It was with great sadness that we learned this week of the tragic death of Sean Lynch who races with neighbouring Drogheda Wheelers CC.  Unfortunately, Sean died from injuries sustained in a cycle race in Wexford over last weekend. Cycle racing is like one big family moving up and down and across the country each year from February until September and losing someone in such tragic circumstances is like losing a family member. We extend the sympathy of all members to the Lynch family.

Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, Craig Sweetman and Arek Klus raced in the Gorey 3-Day event with some great results, so much so, both riders finished up being upgraded to Senior A1 level, the top of the ladder.

Craig Sweetman got the Jersey for Overall Points Winners  in the Gorey 3-Day.
