Bingo Night
Thanks to all who came along to the Bingo night on Wednesday. A great night was had by all.
Thanks especially to Diarmuid Everard of Printcom for the advertising signs and to Paudge Moore for putting them up. Thanks also to Dave Morgan our bingo caller, Joe Tevlin for promoting the bingo and helping out on the night, and all our volunteers inside and outside the venue.
We are grateful to Clarke’s Fruit Farm, the City North Hotel, Gibney’s ‘Huntsman’ of Gormanston, and individuals who donated prizes for the Raffle held on the night.
Finally, thanks to Pauline, Thérese and Carol who have been diligent as always in the preparation and functioning of the bingo.

First Communion – Whitecross NS
Congratulations to the children from Whitecross NS who took their First Holy Communion this Saturday. We would like to thank their teachers and all who helped prepare them for this special day.

Annual Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock
The annual Stamullen/Julianstown Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Sunday, 21st May this year. The cost of the day is €30, and this includes tea/coffee and sandwiches on the way down in The Longford Arms Hotel. The bus will leave Stamullen at 7:45am, and Julianstown at 8am. Diocese of Meath – Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Meath Diocese Pilgrimage to Knock
Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Our Lady`s Shrine at Knock takes place on Sunday 13th August 2017 and will be led by Bishop Michael Smith and the choir for the Mass is the Meath Diocesan Choir.
St. Oliver’s Pilgrim Walk
St. Oliver’s Pilgrim Walk is organised by the Knights of St. Columbanus and involves a pilgrim walk around Drogheda’s seven beautiful churches (3.2Km). It takes place this year on Friday, 26th May and Saturday, 27th May starting at Our Lady of Lourdes Church via, St. Peter’s Church of Ireland, Augustinian Church, St. Mary’s, Holy Family Church, St. Mary Magdalene’s Dominican Church and finishing at St. Peter’s Church where the Shrine of St. Oliver Plunkett and his holy relics are located. Pilgrims can complete the walk on either day between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm or it can be completed over the two days.
Julianstown Parent, Baby and Toddler Group
The Julianstown Baby and Toddler group now operates on two mornings a week. Join us on Join us from 9.30-11.30 am on Wednesday morning in the Julianstown Community centre and on Friday in the Julianstown Parish Rooms on the Laytown Road. €3 per family. The Golden Girls
The Golden Girls are hoping to take a trip to Fairyhouse evening race meeting on 1st June & a scenic tour to Carlingford on 26th June. People outside of the group are always very welcome, for further details contact Rose at 086-8377033.
Stamullen Road Club
Last Sunday, Craig Sweetman finished 10th in the Tour of the Mournes 147km race, in a field of 100 riders. On Wednesday night Arek Klus went one better than last week when he won the 5th Round of the McNally Swords Summer league at Clonalvy.
This week’s races: Saturday Phoenix Park, Dublin.
Sunday: Shay Elliott Memorial (165km) race, starting in Bray.
Next week, cycling enthisiasts will have a great opportunity to go see some of the world’s top class cyclists in the City North Hotel, where teams from Australia, America, Denmark, France and Belgium, to name but a few will be arriving from Wednesday night for the An Post 8-Day International Rás. The riders will depart from the Hotel on Sunday morning 21st May and travel in convoy to Dublin Castle for the Ceremonial start at 12pm before making their way on the first stage to Longford town (146km). This will be the first time that the Rás Organisers will use the City North Hotel for their Headquarters, prior to the start of this 8-day event. Stamullen Road Club member, Arek Klus, who is an employee of Centra, Stamullen will be making his debut in this Rás and if you see him in the shop during the week, please wish him Good Luck in this major event. All his club comrades send their best wishes for a safe race.
Star of the Sea AC
Please note there will be some traffic disruption in Stamullen village, Gormanston Road and Cockhill Road on Tuesday, 30th May from 8pm to 8.30 pm as Star of the Sea AC are hosting their annual 5k Road Race. There will be plenty of marshals on the route. We hope to keep disruption to a minimum and apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
We are looking for volunteers to help marshal the race. Please contact Michelle McKiernan on 086-1722749 or Brian Collins on 086-2505638. It will only be for a short period of time and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sonairte Veg Share
Sonairte will be hosting a “Veg Share” talk on Community Supported Agriculture next Wednesday 17th May at 7.30pm. The talk will explain the scheme which involves a partnership between the farmer and consumer and aims to address increasing concerns about the lack of transparency, sustainability and resilience in our food system. Community Supported Agriculture is a way that consumers can re-take control and ownership of our food system, giving consumers direct connection to the farm and the production of their own food.
Free Classes in Digital Skills
Third Age is delivering free Digital Skills classes in your area. Starting shortly. The free training course is a 10-hour programme over five weeks, two hours per week, 10 participants per course. The programme takes a helpful pace. It covers introduction to the Internet, Internet security and safety, email, search engines and websites, online government services, conducting everyday transactions, online voice and video calls and use of apps. The course is designed to inspire confidence in its intended audience of non-liners, and to create opportunities for successful self-learning.
