Easter Thanks

A word of thanks to everyone who worked hard to prepare for the recent Easter Ceremonies in the parish.

To all who took part in the Ceremonies, and to all who prepared our parish churches, a warm, well earned, word of thanks.

 

Mass Intentions

  • Please remember Funeral Masses, when they occur, will replace the Mass of the day.
  • On Sunday, Funerals will take place at the usual Mass times.  Funerals therefore willtake place at 10 am in Stamullen and 11:30 am in Julianstown (on a Sunday).
  • If  you wish to book a Mass please contact the parish office in plenty of time as only threefamilies’ intentions are accepted for each weekend Mass.
  • Only one Mass Intention can be taken for 10 am weekday Masses.

 

Sacraments in the Parish

Bishop Michael Smith will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in the parish this Thursday, 19th April:  Whitecross NS ceremony will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown at 11 am and St. Patrick’s NS ceremony takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Gormanston at 3 pm.

We ask parishioners to pray for the Candidates as they take this very important step in their faith journey.

 

Fund Raising – Ten Week Draw

We would like to thanks to all who took part in the Parish Ten Week Draw.  A special word of thanks to the Promoters:  Mary Clarke, Pauline Clarkin, Mary Courtney, Mary Davitt, Rita Gilligan, Fr. Declan, Nuala Kavanagh, Bridie Kirwan, Annette Leonard, Martin McKenna, Carol McKiernan, Johnny McQuillan, Aisling Monahan, Christy Moore, Paudge Moore, Tosh Murphy, Tommie Russell and Kay Tobin for their dedication each year.  A total  of €6,800 was raised this year.

Eucharistic Ministers – Gormanston Woods

Thanks to all who have added their names to the list of Eucharistic Ministers who have volunteered to bring the Eucharist to patients in the Gormanston Woods Nursing Home on a monthly basis.  We will be in touch soon with a proposed roster.

True Light Prayer Group

The True Light Prayer group meetings continue on Tuesdays,  from 8 – 9:30 pm in the Parish Centre, Stamullen.  Come just as you are and share in God’s word through praise and scripture.  All very welcome.

 

Adoration

If you would like to spend some time in quiet prayer with the Lord, please join us for one hour, in Julianstown from 9 am and after 10 am Mass on Wednesday and in Stamullen after 10 am Mass on Thursday.

 

Stamullen Tidy Towns

Join us and help us improve our village … we meet every Saturday at Stamullen Church at 11 am.

 

World Meeting of Families

Registration for all WMOF2018 events is open via www.worldmeeting2018.ie. Individual pilgrims and families can now register for the main three-day WMOF2018 Congress from August 22nd to 24th  for the Festival of Families on Saturday 25th August; and for the Closing Mass on Sunday, 26th August.  There are currently more than 8,000 people registered with considerable interest from overseas. Don’t miss out on these once in a generation events.

The World Meeting of Families 2018 will attract thousands of Irish and International pilgrims. Organising it and seeing it through will only be possible with the help of thousands of volunteers. Julianstown Community Centre

Open Day / Grand Opening of the New Kitchen in Julianstown Community Centre will take place on Sunday, 22nd April.    Come along and see what recent fund-raising has yielded.

The Centre, and new kitchen is open for use by the Community for the Community.  Join us from 12 o’clock for a cuppa and a bun.  Members from all the groups who use the Centre will be on hand to chat about their activities.  Come along and see your Community Centre, and what it has to offer.

Stamullen Bowls

An Taisce National Spring Clean

Julianstown & District Community Association are organising our Annual Spring Clean on  Saturday 21st April, 2018 from 10 am to 1 pm.  Meet at Whitecross NS. (Bags, Gloves, Litter Pickers and High Vis Jackets Supplied)  Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Thanks to Meath County Council who are supplying the Skip & Equipment.  This is a great opportunity to get Julianstown’s Roads and back Roads cleaned.  Fill the bags, leave them at side of road and they will be picked up. Please tell your friends and neighbours and encourage them to come along.  Tea/Coffee  and chat in Whitecross school afterwards.

 

Knit ‘n’ Knatter at Sunflower Cafe, Riverside, Mornington

Come along and join us every Friday morning from 10 am to 12 pm for a morning of knitting or crocheting in the newly opened Sunflower Cafe at Riverside Home & Gift Shop, Mornington. Admission is free and is open to all ages and levels. (Please note this is not a class but members are willing to offer advice. Contact Eileen 086-7347789 for enquiries).
