Boards of Management in our Primary Schools
At the end of this month the current term of the Boards of Management of our Catholic Primary Schools come to an end.
On behalf of our Parish we thank all who served on the Boards of Management for the last four years. Their generous response to being asked to serve on a Board is very much appreciated. The wisdom and experience brought by each member contributed to the smooth functioning of our parish schools. We all strive to offer the best possible education for our young people, and this is made possible by the hard work and dedication of Teachers, Principals, members of the Boards of Management and all who work in our schools.
On December 1st new Boards of Management will commence their term of office and we wish them well in their task. We owe such people a great debt.
How is the Ethos of a Catholic School distinct from other school types?
A Roman Catholic School (which is established in connection with the Minister) aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person of the pupil, intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and with other people.
The school models and promotes a philosophy of life, inspired by belief in God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, while promoting diversity and respect for people of other faiths and none. The Catholic School provides religious education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and promotes the formation of pupils in the Catholic Faith.

Stamullen Road Club
Last Saturday night at a major Cycling Ireland function in the City West Hotel, Dublin, the Howard family & Stamullen Road Club were honoured and felt very proud when Gaybo (Gabriel) was inducted into the Cycling Ireland Hall of Fame. It was an award that was so richly deserved and hard earned because without doubt Gaybo would have been one of the longest and hard-working individuals in the sport of cycling. When his name was called out, there was a rapid, spontaneous standing ovation. So sadly missed.
Aoibhinn Sharkey continues to decorate the Podium at the Cycle Cross Winter League by taking yet another win.
