Moorechurch Cemetery

A number of parishioners have contacted us to express their anger regarding the Cemetery in Moorechurch.

It appears that visitors are disgarding their rubbish at the entrance gate to the cemetery as they leave!

We would like to remind visitors to the cemetery to take their rubbish with them.  There is no rubbish collection facility in the Cemetery.

The Council call when requested and take away rubbish (but this is not a regular thing and they are not obliged to do so).  In fact, they had only completed a great clean up of the cemetery last Friday taking away the equivalent of six bags of rubbish (we would like to thank them for doing that), and then on Monday morning visitors arrived to a huge pile of cemetery rubbish at the gate.

We ask parishioners to respect Moorechurch cemetery and the memory of loved ones buried there, by keeping the cemetery tidy and removing all rubbish as you leave.  The upkeep of the Cemetery is everyone’s concern!
