Mr. Cahill RIP, Teacher Stamullen
The obituary prepared by historian Brendan Matthews to the late Mr. Philip Cahill, former Teacher & Vice-Principal at Stamullen NS, has been published in the current issue of the Drogheda Independent and also this week`s Meath Chronicle.
Golden Girls and our four travelling companions enjoyed a lovely outing to Mt. Usher gardens on Wednesday last.
Upon arrival we had tea/coffee & scones (some had pavlova!!) after which we toured the gardens. The peace & tranquillity to be felt there was wonderful. “One is nearer to God in the garden than anywhere else on earth”.
Our day concluded with dinner on arrival back in Whytes, thanks to Brendan & his wonderful staff for a delicious meal.
More next week on our forthcoming 1916 project.
