Parish Fund Raising Bingo

We are holding our next Bingo Night on Wednesday, 23rd November at 8 pm in the City North Hotel.  The Prize Fund on the night is €5,000.  Looking forward to seeing everyone again for what is always a great fun night.

 

Adoration

Adoration has resumed in Julianstown on Wednesday from 9 am and continues after 10 am Mass and on Thursday after 10 am Mass in Stamullen.  All welcome, just come along….

 

1916 Plaque

The Cemetery committee would like to thank everyone who came out to support the recent unveiling of the 1916 plaque.  Special thanks to the members of the Defense Forces who supplied the Flag Party for the occasion, also to members of the O.N.E. Drogheda and Slane branch who supplied the colour party and piper on the occasion.  Thanks to Fr. Declan Kelly PP for blessing the plaque, to Mark Mooney Jnr., for unveiling the plaque, retired Liet Col. Jim Mortell who read the Proclamation, Brendan Matthews, local historian, for his interesting and informative talk on the way the troubles affected the local community and Ray Gough for his work in securing the Defence Forces and the O.N.E. at the last minute.

Thanks to Pat Ryan, Jason Gough and Mick Martin for their help on the night.

Special thanks to the local residents of Le Mare for facilitating the ceremony.

Well done to members of the Cemetery Committee who worked so hard for the occasion.

Finally, the committee would like to sympathise with the Leonard family on the death of Peter, who was a founder member of the Cemetery Committee.

 

Diocesan News

EWTN

EWTN will broadcast Worldwide Children’s Holy Hour Mass (Special) from the National Shrine of the Apostle Paul in Minneapolis (USA).  This Eucharistic and Marian Holy Hour in which children will be united throughout the world praying for families and for peace will be shown on EWTN on Friday, 7th October at 4 pm and repeated on Saturday, 8th at 8 am.  EWTN will also broadcast the Closing of the 14th Annual worldwide children’s Eucharistic Holy Hour at 10 am on Saturday 8th October.  EWTN is available on Sky and on Saorview.

 

The True Light Prayer Group

Our Prayer Meeting take place on Tuesdays from 8 – 9.30pm in the Parish Centre, Stamullen. Join us for prayer, praise and scripture.   We welcome all who have a desire to seek God in His word and in prayer.

 

The Golden Girls

Nathan Carter show in the TLT Theatre on 11th December. Ballet Classes

Ballet classes recommence next week. Seniors meet on Monday in St. Patrick’s GAA Centre, Cock Hill Road at 7pm. Junior/beginner class will take place on Tuesday at 3 pm in Parish Centre, Stamullen. Phone: Clare at 087-2636124.

 

Stamullen Road Club

The Race season is over for 2016.  But now we are turning our thoughts to fund-raising for 2017:  On Friday, 25th November we will be holding our annual Poker Classic in Whyte’s, Stamullen and this will be followed up on Saturday, 17th December with Monster Christmas Draw, again in Whytes.

We ask that all clubs’ please take note of these dates so as to avoid any clashes of fund-raising activities. Thanks.

Life in the Spirit Seminar

Drogheda Community Services

Drogheda Community Services Centre provide a free one-to-one Bereavement Counselling Service.  A panel of trained counsellors are available during the day & evening to see clients at the Centre, Scarlet Crescent, Drogheda, Co Louth.  For further information please contact 041-9836084.

 

Mindfulness Self-Care Course

A one-day Mindfulness Based Self-Care Skills Course.  For Parents of Children with Special Needs will be held on Saturday, 8th October from 10 am to 3 pm in Flemington Community Centre. Facilitated by Tara Killen, www.happyhealthymind.com  Join in this nurturing one-day workshop designed exclusively for parents of children with extra needs.  Take some time to nurture yourself.  Learn techniques to deal with racing thoughts, anxiety and stress.  How to anchor yourself in the present moment.  How to carve out mental space in the middle of a busy life.  Booking is essential and  €10 is required to secure your place, limited places available. Family Carers Level 5 Training Course

Family Carers Ireland are providing the QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support Award training in Areas of Meath in October.  Modules provided separately one day a week for five weeks from 9.30am to 4.30pm.  One Day topic Specific workshops also available. Sonairte Children’s ‘Garden Days’

Onja’s Children’s Two Day “Garden Days” Mid-Term Break Camp on Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th November from 10:30am–1pm.  For ages 5-12.  Cost:  €25 per child (10% discount for siblings).  All materials included.  Book via The Sunflower Cafe.

 

Onja Van Doorslaer has been teaching gardening to children for the past seven years. With a background in childcare and horticulture, she brings her love of gardening and considerable experience in teaching children. Onja currently works in two south county Dublin schools, co-ordinates a volunteer-led school gardening programme, teaches an afternoon gardening class, runs a garden club for over 50 children and is introducing Montessori children to the wonders of gardening. Her combined knowledge, enthusiasm, patience and sense of fun means the children always look forward to the next gardening session.
