Coronavirus (COVID-19) HSE Guidelines

Just a reminder:  In relation to the Coronavirus we have established the following temporary policies for the parish:

  • Shaking of hands at sign of peace is suspended.
  • Holy Water fonts will be out of use for the time being.
  • Ministers of the Eucharist receiving from the Chalice is suspended.
  • It is strongly recommended that all members of the faithful who receive communion will receive on the hand.

 

  • The current advice from the HSE is that if parishioners are feeling unwell, they should not attend Mass.
  • Paper tissues are provided at the entrance to the Church, for your convenience.

 

We will continue to monitor the situation and will consider implementing more measures should the need arise.

 

Lenten Mass

An extra Mass will be celebrated at 7 pm every Wednesday in Stamullen Church during the season of Lent.

This will provide an opportunity for those who work office hours to participate in the sacrament and to fulfil a Lenten duty.

 

Sacraments in the Parish:  Baptism

This weekend we welcome in Baptism: Calvin Nalley, Saorla McHale and Theo Sheik Jennis.

May all newly baptised children always know and love Jesus as their friend.   We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families.

Flower Society Stamullen Annual Collection

The Stamullen Flower Society will hold their annual collection and at Masses next weekend, Saturday, 14th and Sunday, 15th March.

This collection will support the continued supply of fresh flowers in Stamullen church throughout the year.  Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

 

Make a Wish Day 2019

Due to the current situation with Coronavirus (COVID19), and uncertainty surrounding public events and large gatherings, we have decided, with the support of Make a Wish Ireland, to postpone our planned Annual Cake Sale which was due to take place on Saturday, 14th and Sunday 15th March.

We will rearrange the cake sale for a later date in the year and will be grateful of your support at that time.

East Meath Hospice Pancake Morning 2020

The East Meath Hospice Association would like to thank the Management, Chef and staff of the City North Hotel for their help on the day of the fund-raising Pancake morning, and to all who came along to support this event.

A total of €7,600 was raised on the day.  Thank you again, your continued support is very much appreciated

Stamullen Road Club

This weekend opens the road racing season and the first event will be the Mick Lally Memorial Race which will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00am, with sign-on at Summerhill Community Centre.  There will be races for A+, A1, A2 ,A3, A4 and Women.

Then on Sunday, Navan Road Club will promote the Seamus Kennedy Memorial with separate races for all categories. The Sign-On will be at Simonstown GAA Grounds and racing will get underway from 12:00pm.

We wish all cyclists a safe and happy racing season.

  1. All County Adult Hurling League Div. 4 takes place on Sunday, 8th March at 11.30am at GAA Grounds, Stamullen. St. Patrick’s v Na Fianna.
  2. Under 14 Girls Div. 1 League takes place on Sunday, 8th March at 11am at GAA Grounds Stamullen. St. Patrick’s v Oldcastle.
  3. All County Football ‘A’ League Div. 2 takes place on Friday, 13th March at 8pm at GAA Grounds Pilltown. St. Colmcille’s v St. Patricks.
  4. All County Football ‘B’ League Div. 1 ‘B’ takes place on Saturday, 14th March at 6pm at GAA Grounds Duleek. Duleek/Bellewstown v St. Patrick’s.

 

Darkness into Light

Anam Cara

Anam Cara North Dublin, the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding a Parent Evening for bereaved parents on Wednesday 18th March at 7:20pm in the Carnegie Court Hotel, Swords, Co. Dublin. This event is free and open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether their death was recent or not. Governer’s House Drogheda, Talk

Community Historian, Brendan Matthews will present a Talk at the Governors House Millmount Drogheda at 8pm on Wednesday, 11th March on the True Tale of Jenny Hodgers, alias Albert Cashier, the young Clogherhead woman who had fought in the American Union Army in the 1860`s. The Presentation Talk is based on extensive research undertaken; the results of which will be found to be intriguing, fascinating and heartrending.

 

Stamullen Bowls Club
