Fr. Michael Hinds

Fr. Michael will move to Cork in the coming weeks.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank him for his dedicated service and generous contribution to our parish over the past seven years.

As Fr. Michael prepares to leave our parish — which he has served with such kindness and devotion — we offer him our heartfelt thanks and every blessing in his new appointment as Chaplain to the Navy in Haulbowline, Cork.

May the Lord continue to bless you and protect you in your Ministry.

November Memorial Mass

Our Annual Parish Memorial Mass will take place at the Vigil Mass on Saturday, 15th November.

Indeed, all are invited to participate and very welcome to attend. Please invite your family, friends and neighbours.

List of the Dead

In November we add our loved ones to the List of the Dead in our Parish.

List of the Dead envelopes are available beside the newsletters at the entrance/exit doors. They are also available in your yearly box of envelopes.

All who are named on the Parish List of the Dead will be remembered at all Masses during November and the two masses each First Friday. All are invited to attend these masses on the First Fridays at 10am St. Mary’s and 7:30 pm in St. Patrick’s.

You can return your List of the Dead Envelope in any of the boxes provided in both churches. For security, please leave envelopes during Mass times only. You can also drop them into the Parish.

Sacramental Preparation

We welcome our Confirmation candidates and their families who are joining us this weekend as we begin our Parish Preparation Programme for Confirmation.

To support families’ schedules, we will hold our preparation Masses over two consecutive weekends, during the Vigil Mass on Saturday and the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday in St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown. (You can choose to attend whichever Mass suits you, indeed you can attend both if you wish!

During the Mass, we will have a Blessing of each Candidate’s favourite jersey, T-shirt, top, or school uniform or sports kit. We ask each child to wear their chosen item of clothing for the occasion.

This is, in fact, a Blessing of the Candidate - asking the Lord to grant them the grace they need as they begin their journey of preparation to receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

This blessing is also for their families and all our parishioners, as together we seek strength and renewal in faith at the beginning of this new journey of deepening our love of God.

The Ceremonies will take place on -

  • Saturday, 25th October at 7 p.m. – St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown
  • Sunday, 2nd November at 11:30 a.m. – St. Mary’s Church, Julianstown

This is a very exciting time for our young parishioners, their families and our Parish.

May the Lord bless us all,

as we share in His love together.

We ask parishioners to pray for these children and their families as they prepare for the Sacraments next year.
